Hopefully you do not live downwind and that their cigarette smoke is not drifting into your yard and home and disrupting your peaceful enjoyment of your property. That would be awful.

It seems to me if the street is a public thoroughfare their placing and leaving lawn chairs on it might break some law or laws. If it is a private road the situation might be otherwise. I do not know much about the situation with Patio Villa streets .

In any case good luck! Try to be happy they will be renting for only a few months.

We have contacted the owners listed on the Villages rentals that we finally found. Thanks.

Owner must have contacted "street sitting tenants" because the chairs are gone.

smoker needs to take a walk to the nearest parking lot.. remember our winter renters can be Objectable..

So how does 2 chairs in the street effect you waking up in the morning and enjoying the day. Can you still get in and out of your driveway? I do not see the issue and the owner will be happy that the smoke is not getting into the house.

It’s the trashy look it brings to the neighborhood , smoke in the back yard.

I am regularly spooked at how easy it has always been, throughout history to create a mob.

You are right about how easy it can be to create a mob. Also, being tarred and feathered was never fun. But was the tar hot? Sometimes, but generally not. Tar that remained liquid at room temperature found a number of uses in the past, such as on boat decks, on ropes, as waterproofing, and even as lubrication for squeaky wooden covered wagon axles. The kind that we use on roofs that has to be heated in order to flow wouldn’t work for these uses. Liquid tar was black from the soot in it, stuck to skin and stained it, and was hard to remove. Feathers stuck to it, too. The Wikipedia article on the topic is an interesting read. I was disgusted to read that before the American Revolution, some “patriots” considered it a suitable punishment for Loyalists trying to follow the laws. Tarring and feathering - Wikipedia

The tar used was Pine Tar, made by distilling it from fresh pine wood with heat. When you see reference to “naval stores” as being an important product of a colony, that was part of it. Thousands of barrels of it were produced in America, Sweden, etc. it differs from the petroleum tar used on flat roofs. Tar - Wikipedia

I usually go outside 2 pick my nose in front of all the neighbors. And I walk around at her in the driveway with just my nightgown on and no under where. You took care of the problem and you understand now why they do what they do he's going to put his chair on his driveway in the front or on his lawn and smoke his cigarettes if that's a concern, I would stay inside or go to my own backyard, that's my solution

Remember playing stoop ball with a pink ball and a broomstick?

yes, it's very odd, but the op (see post no. 7) verifies that the chairs are in the street. Maybe they are at the end of the street.

How does this hurt you? Which, come to think of it, is a good yardstick to use when deciding what is your business and what is not.

So many problems(not really). So much spare time. I wonder if they are connected ?

Aqtlow 01-07-2022 06:51 AM

There is a property marker about 10 to 15 foot from the curb toward the house that area is not the home owners the chairs would fit comfortably there, but i sure the tenets were not from around here and have a stick shoved so far up there as- that they could not see that!! lol

So, the situation was resolved. Looks like a lot of commenters did not read the last line. I'm not sure of the purpose of starting this thread.

Maybe they don’t understand the driveway party process
