If you had to I'll bet you could survive having a Carport instead of a Garage. If you need your stuff and have the money to have many garages then I'm happy for you. I really am. I'll bet you that the Carport Homes down South sell like Hotcakes.

I think that they will sell like hotcakes because they will be a lot cheaper.

Being forced?!?!? I thought here you had a “choice” where you want to buy & live?

Can't be that stupid if you can shell out or invest $500-600K in lot/home

Last group of premium lots released were sold by noon same day with backup buyers.

Love the wet lands :coolsmiley:

.

I wouldn’t want to “rain on anyone’s parade” but backing up to a swamp/wet lands/conservation area and paying as much as $150,000 plus for a lot doesn’t “feel good” to me. Trying to say it discreetly. We have a friend who bought on Evans Prairie a few years ago, didn’t like the bugs and creatures, and moved later. Our friends said they even made money on their investment. Careful what you wish for but whatever you want to spend your money on and whatever you think makes you happy - just do it. Just saying...

Does one have to go outside to do laundry?

Carports? Wow! You need steel cables to tie them down for the high winds we get. My sister has one in Volusia and my Dad had one when he was living there too. Aside from that, I wouldn't want to live in a place called "Chitty Chatty." Who names these? Good Grief! (Ron not Judy):1rotfl:

OMG. I'm so glad someone else said it first. I have been thinking that ever since I first heard the name of this new village.

Reminds me.......in NJ, there was a street a few miles away from our home called, "Gay Boy Court". Hubby said we could find our dream home on that street and he would not buy it!

You took the words right out of my mouth. Also, they should be cheaper to build. If you don't think so, ask the builder if he would build you a Patio Villa with a single car garage. I'm thinking they're building & selling these homes & getting more out of them. I think you're exactly right, J1ceasar!

Criminal what they are charging for water lots in Chitty Chatty. We paid 30K for a nice water lot just south of 466.

Why would you say it's criminal? Prices have gone up considerably on everything since they were building just south of 466.

The last Premier section was The Preserve. When it opened there was a fair amount of lots sold, however it took almost 2 years to "sell out"

He stated "Premium" not premier, there are no premier lots yet available south of 44.

Has anyone noticed how many pre-owned houses are on the market in The Villages? There were 54 pages worth in the Saturday insert. I find it very strange. What is going on?

Not strange at all. As they say, most Villagers buy 3 houses over time. A lot of those for sale are folks moving up or down. And this is s community of over 130,000 people. There are going to be re-sales. That's a healthy market.

You obviously didn't read basis of the name, it wasn't named by TV.

How about a little respect for Native Americans who called the area home.
Chittee Chattee was an Indian Chief who lived there!

Also the name of "CHITTY CHATTY CREEK"

:blahblahblah:

We were surprised because we have never seen a new home in TV with a carport. However, it makes a lot of sense to me because we had a 1-car carport in Virginia and it was fine.

Chitty Chatty is interesting because the lots are very different. Some are great but others were not. In some cases, there would be a LOT of space between houses. It made it interesting to look at the houses and critique them.

The walking/biking path around the large lake is very, very nice. We thought it was smart to have the MMP follow the power lines so the carts would not be speeding close to the homes.

We followed the MMP north until we got a very good view of the place where the new bridge will cross Route 44 and it looked pretty crazy. The new bridge will be high, and when the MMP comes downhill from the bridge it will take a sharp left turn, which could be dangerous.

This is the fourth time we have walked through C-C and it looks better each time.

BTW, nice follow-through on the stay at home order bucko

Or they are going back and build like they did in the beginning, except not using trailers but instead they are doing it with sight built construction.

First post and a doomsday prediction.

Did the place you worked not try to maximize profits or reduce expenses? Because every place I worked, including a small business I once owned, surely did.

Don't be jealous of the developer's family. They've earned everything they have.

I think they can build affordable housing w/o carports.
