Stay in you bubble. We’re good.

All 3 town squares have super popular bands. From what I’m hearing all three are expecting big crowds. If you have left your cocoons for any of the town squares lately when a good band is playing you would see that life goes on and huge crowds have gathered. I made reservations at Red Sauce in LSL and the hostess said they are almost filled. Johnny Wild will be playing on a day it’s supposed to be 82 degrees. My wife and I will be in attendance without hesitation. The hysterians as I call them can stay home. The rest of us will enjoy life.

No wonder the USA has the world's worst covid data. Sure, let's party, virus be damned.

Dr. Fauci has been advising against going to bars since the summer, and he'll likely say it again before the year is out. The mix of indoor activity, an inability to drink through a face mask and alcohol (which lowers your inhibitions, and thus desire to follow the basic public health measures) makes for a toxic cocktail. "You've gotta look very carefully at things like bars, [which] are a really important place of spreading of infection. There's no doubt about that," Fauci told Chris Hayes on All In. "And that becomes particularly important if you happen to be in an area where there's a high degree of community spread." Put another way: "Bars: really not good, really not good. Congregation at a bar, inside, is bad news. We really have got to stop that," Fauci told a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions

But they're over by 9:00. I think that it would be nice for that Villages to have a couple of bands on the squares until 1:00 on New Year's Eve. One band plays from 5-9 and and another comes on at 9 and plays until 1:00 am.

They may not get a lot of people for the later group but it's worth a try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Maybe a free champagne toast at midnight from the drink huts would keep people around.

I know that the tradition has always been 9:00 (And believe me I know. I've played in bands that play until 9:00 and half the people leave at 8:30. It's as though they're trying to beat the traffic after a football game) but places like City Fire keep going until 11:00. I think that especially during a holiday when a lot of younger people are visiting from out of town it may work.

Bonifay Country Club has a New Year’s Eve party in their Breezeway with the Boardwalk Band playing from 5 to 10 PM. You’ll need to call 352-205-7455 for reservations.

For those Hysterians who are interested. Today’s 12-29-20 up to date United States numbers on COVID. 19,787,239 cases. 343,211 deaths. Do the math. 1.7% death rate. 98.3% recovery rate. This without the virus shot. I am convinced that years from now history will show case studies that people can easily be manipulated into becoming sheep. And that they were so quick to give up there constitutional rights because a politician or a particular group of doctors demanded that they cooperate or else face consequences. I am in my mid-60s, my wife and I, my son back in Illinois, several nephews in Illinois, and several friends my age have all had COVID. All of us minor symptoms all of us no complications. 1.7% death rate and dropping. Go out and enjoy yourself on New Year’s Eve

When we first moved here in 2005, LSL was open past midnight on NYE. Maybe 2006 too. Then they went to 9. Dont remember the rationale for stopping....

What does Fauci say about gyms where a person's SOLE INTENTION is to work their body to breathe out air and virus to the fullest extent? Restaurants, Airplanes, Yoga classes, etc.; they all seem to be equal considerations to me. Why does Fauci's opinion rate higher than any other person's opinion?

I find Anthony Fauci to not be the unbiased expert source the media has made him out to be for these kinds of reasons. Being a doctor, he is an 'expert' in which specific areas? I actually created a term based on my observations of him early on: 'drift of expertise'. I believe we put too much faith in so-called 'experts'. Their areas of expertise are limited.

But you have a 99.9% chance you will survive unless you are over 70 years then you are being reckless with only a 95.7% chance to survive

Yes, they are also called Covid spreading events.

Oh come on.....he IS an expert on infectious diseases....you obviously are NOT.

Dani & Bill 12-29-2020 11:54 AM

And there are plenty of other "experts" that disagree with Fauci or interpret the data differently. So the media has their experts and I have mine...just like in court. The media has anointed Fauci but that doesn't mean he is right or the only source of "science" or that his interpretation of the science or data is the only correct interpretation. I prefer to educate myself and read, read, read...then make my own decision. Others may choose to just listen to the media and do what they say to do...that is certainly their choice. It's just not mine, and my choice is just as valid. My 2 cents

You go. With all the children here the last two weeks spreading the virus I nor my wife will be anywhere near a party or celebration in public.
