You will need to call around to local restaurants, in years past there were many that had New Years Eve parties, but this year is different so I do not have any advice. We made our plan many months ago and i have not kept up with any of the restaurants, good luck.

I made reservations at Red Sauce in LSL and the hostess said they are almost filled. Johnny Wild will be playing on a day it’s supposed to be 82 degrees. My wife and I will be in attendance without hesitation. The hysterians as I call them can stay home. The rest of us will enjoy life.

82 degrees on New Year's Eve.......somehow that strikes me as a potential problem? Am I being a realist or a "hysterian"? - cute name. Enjoy yourselves.

Friends having fun at New Year's party Risk Level: 10 of 10

Dr. Fauci has been advising against going to bars since the summer, and he'll likely say it again before the year is out. The mix of indoor activity, an inability to drink through a face mask and alcohol (which lowers your inhibitions, and thus desire to follow the basic public health measures) makes for a toxic cocktail. "You've gotta look very carefully at things like bars, [which] are a really important place of spreading of infection. There's no doubt about that," Fauci told Chris Hayes on All In. "And that becomes particularly important if you happen to be in an area where there's a high degree of community spread." Put another way: "Bars: really not good, really not good. Congregation at a bar, inside, is bad news. We really have got to stop that," Fauci told a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions

Let ALL the red-blooded, patriotic, macho-Americans have their fun at bars. When they get bored with that they will try playing Russian Roulette. Live up to the John Wayne image!

I find Anthony Fauci to not be the unbiased expert source the media has made him out to be for these kinds of reasons. Being a doctor, he is an 'expert' in which specific areas? I actually created a term based on my observations of him early on: 'drift of expertise'. I believe we put too much faith in so-called 'experts'. Their areas of expertise are limited.

Science denying will soon become a religion. Wonderful way to start the New Year! All the science-deniers can boogie and dance "the YMCA" at the squares until the wee hours of 9 PM. Be there AND be square.

I've heard some people may stay up until midnight without permission,

We have an inadequate RAG of a newspaper here in TV Land. But, even it is SCREAMING OUT reality on its front page. It says, "Be Diligent" The medical officer of The Villages warns, "local CV hospitalizations are at the HIGHEST they have been and RISING". On page A-13 he says, "avoid interactions that last 15 minutes and are within 6 feet of others, especially without MASKS". There is more there worth reading BEFORE you plan your New Year's partying strategy. Make the best decision for the future of ALL society, not just for temporary individual amusement.

So... you are saying here that 'Dr. Fauci's view = science', and any other view is 'a science-denier'. Correct? Have you ever used critical thinking skills?

Coronavirus is not alive. You can think of the virus more like 'seeds'. I honestly have no doubt that Anthony Fauci knows this. but is he an expert in the area of, say, laminar flow and the effects of different surfaces that would shape the dispersion pattern of these non-living particles? How does he determine that "BARS" are the problem and definitely not (for example) a GYM where people are intentionally breathing with force into typically open areas with no barriers to their intentionally forceful breathing? It's an unbiased question from an observer that views this quote as a far too simplistic analysis.

I have worked for over 3.5 decades as an engineer on the space program at Cape Canaveral Air Force station (retired this April). I used to sit on launch console, and I have been called an 'expert' on many different occasions. If someone can call ME an 'expert', I tend to be suspicious of that term.

Here in New York State they found that the rate of infection at gyms is .06%!! At hair salons and barbershops it is .14%! The worst spreaders are the family gatherings. Can't wait to be in TV in a couple of months away from the idiocy of NYS!

When you add up Dr. Fauci's WARNING + 90% of ALL Medical Experts on TV + the front page of our local Newsrag saying "BE DILIGENT hospital CV cases RISING" - that = equals S C I E N CE - therefore disbelief of this SCIENCE = "denier" - big time! So, "laminar flow" is just vocabulary bragging.

City Fire in Lake Sumter will be celebrating New Year`s with a band from 8-12. Dinner is $50.00 per person and doors open at 6:30. The band is Groove 41 and they are very good.
