I live in Hadley and many years ago..
 

I had video of the kids (teenagers) across from the Villages (where SE 90th Street meets Lake Ella road) were shooting at squirrels in the trees with shot guns. I phoned the Sheriff (Sumter County) and showed him the video. He called the Lake County Sheriff and they sent a car to the house. It was determined that no laws were broken because the house is not considered to be in the city limits and it is perfectly legal to discharge a weapon on private property, outside city limits.

I heard it as well. It definitely was gunfire. It came from the Cherry Lake Road area that we have no control over.

The temperature have been in the low 60's for the past few days. Has anyone heard noises that sound like gun shots in the last few days?

The weatherman predicts colder temperatures are soon to be with us again.
Listen for the sounds when these lower temperatures return

I've heard siding 'pop' and I have heard many firearms, the sound is distinctly different. these sounds were not siding and certainly not if being heard in the distance as siding pops don't achieve the decibel level to carry further than the immediate area but are certainly annoying if you are out on your deck. Now a nail gun is another story...
