1) all the rec centers I don’t visit
2) the pickle ball courts I don’t play
3) the tennis courts I don’t use
4) the employees working at the squares at night that I don’t attend
5) swimming pools I don’t play in.
6) and on and on…..

I'm a non-golfer, other than going to the gym I don't use any of the activities available.
But I do not mind paying for the upkeep, my belief is these activities is one of the main attractions for people to want to live here.
This keeping the price of homes here at a higher value.

IMO reason golf courses are in condition there in maintenance malpractice. Upper management heads should be fired. What’s say they won’t screw it up second or third time. IMO Somebody needs to accountable for millions each year with result that goes down hill every year.

IMO you could have the same condition next year with new faces. I guess that’s why businesses are not run on your “opinion “.

But at least some one was held accountable.

This complaint about paying for golf courses when I don't play golf, reminds me of the old complaint when I lived up North many moons ago. "Why should I pay school taxes when I don't have any kids in school?" Dumb!

I thought lotteries was supposed to fix public education? Public schools can NEVER have enough funded money not how that system works. :duck: same principles can be applied else where when spending someone else’s money.

Agree. Points been made several times.....

I often wonder when people go through sales presentations, tours, walk through, purchase, closing etc.....do they do so with blinders....and ear phones on? It’s like they wake up the first day and say, where did all those rolling hills and fairways come from, and more importantly, glad I’m not paying for the upkeep! Smh

I’m pretty sure if you’re living in villages you’re paying for it.

One thing that bothers me is these “flame throwers” have no idea of how our local systems of government works. The CDDs vs the AAC/PWAC, etc. They blame “the developer” when they very little to do with the matter. Learn how The Villages works then direct your angst and anger to the proper person, place or thing.

So let me preface with a couple of things, I’m not the complaining party and I genuinely like and respect the development group. That said...and since across the threads on any given day, people want to equate TV to a municipality. Fair. I don’t ‘blame’ the developer for anything...but be serious for a second, just like any CEO stacking a board or Mayor stacking a city council....the developer has very much to do ‘with the matter’. Recent history has shown us that they will support candidates that have similar ideas and concepts that align with their vision. Nothing wrong with it, thats the system. I also subscribe to the the theory...to the victor goes the spoils!Go Eastport!

I agree, but I am wondering why school taxes should be paid by an age restricted community that doesn’t have children attending. I’m in the camp that the Villages should be it’s own city.

Question....is there such thing as a ‘city’, anywhere, that is incorporated ....in three separate counties and over 35+ squ. miles?

Wildwood. Villagers would first need to petition or vote (either one) to dissolution. Then they would need to reincorporate. It would be easiest to do in Wildwood where Villagers outnumber non Village residents.

Huh?

Did you read anything before you purchased your home? Have you ever lived anywhere else? This is just the way it goes. You pay for lots of things you never use. I don’t use the playground in my neighborhood back home. But it is a benefit to my community and a selling point if I decide to sell. And on and on and on…
