You moved to the current environment. It did not move to you, nor did it change.

You purchase something that was blue and later decided you like green. Should the manufacturer of the blue item be responsible to make you happy by giving you a green one?

While not to minimize your point, the masses that moved here, wanting the amenities as represented, would be injured by such a change. That would be unfair to them.

Moving is always an option. Remember, it was an unforced decision to move here, or to buy the blue item for that matter.

At the end of the day, other than our health, virtually everything boils down to economics.

I hope on balance, you are still enjoying yourself.

Then why did you move here?

Enjoy

Enjoy the life that buzzes around you. Even though I don’t always partake, I like everything about the place, both good and bad. It’s not a bad thing to drive by beautiful golf courses; it breaks up the monotony of house to house construction.

Must be a country bumpkin

for the reasons I stated in my response. Reincorporate or secession isn’t new and it’s always an effort. Wildwood is only one village of approx.18K residents and sits in one county...much easier/realistic path.

NYC is in several counties, whether we ever build up to that would remain to be seen. A start is needed just like Wildwood. No, I’m not looking for Bronx, Brooklyn or Kings, I’m just saying what is evident. My address city is The Villages, but hey just like on Miracle on 34th Street, it’s a US postal service issue…lol

If it means a decent corned beef sangwich or Brooklyn style pizza....i’ll accept that model sir!

1) all the rec centers I don’t visit
2) the pickle ball courts I don’t play
3) the tennis courts I don’t use
4) the employees working at the squares at night that I don’t attend
5) swimming pools I don’t play in.
6) and on and on…..

"Michael" doesn't pay for those items (directly). But he does pay the fees that he agreed to when he decided to live here and become a Villager. Amenity fees are kind of like taxes that the government collects. It goes into a big pot out of which the government pays for various things the government takes care of, like the military and equipment, infrastructure, etc. Just because "Michael" doesn't get to drive the destroyer, fly the jet fighter, or drive the tank doesn't mean "Michael" can opt out of helping to purchase or maintain the things "Michael" doesn't personally use. As a member of our society you pay your share, like it or not. As a member of TV, you pay your agreed to Amenity fee. Want to opt out of taxes or amenity fees. Moving is "Michael's" option.

I thought we all liked The Villages when we bought here. Things seem to be pretty much still as advertised when we bought here 11 years ago. A wonderful community with lots of things available for all. But now there are some who want to turn the goose that layed our golden egg into a flock of ducks. Be careful with what you wish for.

Michael. But he probably wouldn't mind if you called him "Mike ". I don't know him, personally. OP mentioned him in the first post. Say, you don't think OP just made him up, do you? Hmm! Wonder what OP is up to? 😶😬🤨😱

Let me ask you, when you bought your house did you remodel at all? It’s remodeling time.

Why do I have to pay fir pickleball maintenance?

Took out carpet, put in tile. I get your point, but it isn't even apples vs oranges. It's more like taking your Ferrari to several custom shops and having each one customize a different part of the body, engine, suspension. Even different size wheels. Imagine, if you can, what we would end up with if various Villages seceded from The Villages and were taken over by various local townships. Now, that is a pretty ugly thought.
