Yes, since TV rule compliance is complaint based (it would be too expensive to hire officials to check on everything everywhere) these “nosy nellies” are volunteer workers. Sometimes they take their jobs too far and end up becoming harassers instead of helpers.

If you plan to not follow the deed restrictions right off the bat, this is not the place for you. But it is also my understanding that you can come with your 3 pets to most of the districts and when one of them dies you cannot replace to 3 again.

Before you put an offer in for a house ask to read the deed restriction and if the agent won’t provide it for you, Google it. They are all on line.

Because from where we are from the maximum amount of adult animals you could own was three. This seems a very logical question in my view and one of which I do not know the answer.

Nightmare Neighbor

District 5 deed restrictions state a two pet limit. A friend in Ashland was busted by a nightmare neighbor. She had an old inside dog, a cat and 3 little birds. She had to give up the birds. (He seemed to get unhinged at the smallest thing and had a gun fettish so she didn’t want to fight it.)

What a shame for your friend bc her neighbor was a busy body. I can only guess that neighbor asked questions & she answered honestly, then he used it against her. Never tell everything when first meeting people, no matter how small or innocent the questions may seem at the time. I too have a nightmare neighbor & regret answering invasive questions. Live & learn!

No only two pets! :duck:If I was in charge it would only be 1 pet. But luckily I will never be in charge :a040:

13 don’t have limit yet!

I moved here in 2003 with 4 indoor cats. All are now deceased. Have one small dog now. Have a neighbor with 6 tiny, tiny dogs. Who cares. She walks them daily and we all enjoy seeing these wonderful little creatures,

I think you are misleading the OP. Of course people care about following the guidelines THAT is why many moved here in the first place.

May I suggest a quick call to the sales center for documentation- rather than get info on this site?

Seriously... The people in the sales center will say.. ummmm, did you read your deed restrictions? They rarely know how to answer these questions.

You can pick your Village but not your neighbors no matter where you go. It’s just a fact of life. OP, I wouldn’t spend my time worrying about 3 pets. Come on down.

Probably an oversight but who cares? Now, if the deed restrictions said no pets it would be a more interesting story.

I think if people keep pushing the limits that may come to be. I hope not, I love my cat and dog…but I can see where this is heading.

We have a CYV with a fenced in back and side yard. We like the privacy and our two cats can enjoy the sun and fresh air without imposing on neighbors. I can’t imagine not living in a fenced yard where neighbors can peep into your windows. In a CYV no one would know how many pets you have unless you told them or they were noisy.
