Part of the problem this week was that a few family pools were closed for 24 hours for cleanup because a kid did their business in the pool. Sometime the swimming diapers may leak which triggers a closure. At Bacall the rec assistant reminds parents to have the swim diapers on their kids; they even provide the diapers free-of-charge at the pool. The pool closed when a kid did his business and was not wearing any diaper. The pool cleanup at the expense of all villagers.

No Votes on pool category

There are no votings on whether a pool will be adult or family. Well before a Village construction is started, the developer will erect a "recreation center" consisting of a mail kiosk and a swimming pool. This will always be an adult pool. Swimming pools that are located as part of the larger recreation centers (which do not have mail kiosks) are family pools.

Should someone show up with their grandkids, noodles in hand, and the pool is filled, they have very little distance to travel to get to other pools...probably as close as 5 - 10 minutes away. You can bet that Spring Break and Easter weekend resulted in the crowds....that will all change by the latter part of April, when our seasonal residents return to their summer homes.

Maybe that's the way it is now, but there have been votes in the past.

Gil, that's what we were told when we were shown around and when we finally bought.

What than  This would be a big factor in my decision because I don't play golf and not into picleball....... but I would be a frequent visitor to the local pool and I would be irritated to find it "full" !

Looking at the map of rec centers and pools it looks like North of 466 has 15 pools and South of 466 has 34 pools (not counting country clubs which, I believe, all have pools but cost extra to use). Maybe the Southsiders should be paying twice the amenities fees!

The developers learn from experience. However...correct me if I am wrong, but the ones North are larger aren't they?
