When I was in the Army, the best Fort to be stationed at was either the one we just left or the one were were going to. Never the one we were at!

I too agree, redtail....that was my first thought!

Well without "marketing", none of us would be here, and without "marketing", none of us would ever have bought our previous homes from a real estate agent....nor even a for-sale-by-owner because they took out an ad in the newspaper or put a sign in the front yard. That's marketing too.

It would be pretty dumb to sink tens/hundreds of millions of dollars into developing and building homes and commercial properties, and then not "market" them.

The only problem with that marketing would be if the consumer did not actually GET what the marketers said they would get.

Here, we get what they say we're offered and much more. Like tens of thousands of people from every state who are interested in getting to know new people, are mature, and aren't full of themselves.

Hmmmm; Maybe THIS is why he was reluctant to post! Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make it right to blast them. He didn't blast you he just stated his opinion. By the way, he didn't make his marketing post until he was challenged that TV did not do much marketing. IMHO this kind of disagreeable behavior is what is wrong with our politics today -- instead of agreeing to disagree with the opinion and the person making the opinion they must be attacked. I am one who loves the lifestyle and will be buying in TV as soon as I sell in MO., but I am sure there are many for whom it is a bad fit.

Excellent post. I think you hit the nail on the head regarding the personal attacks on people who post with different opinions.

When you get on every major news media by having a book tour, a governor, high profile Republicans, visit or A President to be, that is marketing. It doesn't just happen. It costs for the security, lodging for the entourage,

I get how anybody who is looking forward to moving here( I did too) or is

Gracie was questioning whether TV spends any money on marketing. Larry Wilson, was attempting to pleasantly offer some examples of marketing promotions that wouldn't be evident to most of us. For his post, his character has been criticized. IMHO, Everyone on this website should be able to offer their opinion without being personally criticized.

BobKat1 10-25-2011 12:38 PM

I look in on a couple of forums and from what I can tell, this kind of reaction is normal. Generally, folks who participate are fans of and enthusiastic about the topic of the forum (TV in this case). So someone with a view or opinion different from the majority stands out and the opinion isn't shared by most people. That probably won't change, just the nature of the thing.
