All I know is I wear two pairs of socks when I play golf just in case I get a hole-in-one 😳

A hole in one, is a hole in one, doesn't matter where.

Hole In One is a Hole In One= Celebrate

The 7th hole at Pebble beach has played at 92 yards in the US Open. The hole is all downhill with a considerable drop. That relates to about 75 yards. A ball hit from a tee, into the hole, is reason for celebration. Congratulations!!!!

Exactly! I have never heard such childish talk....who cares!
If I'm playing ( or anyone) a pitch and putt and I get a hole in one....guess what, I got a hole in one.
All you have to say is "wow, that's nice", as anyone would say for a regulation course. I'm not asking for a trophy.

It does seem like the ones that have issue with this are all the same type of personality, same sex, same "needy" way about them. What has happened, where's the confidence. Appreciating something good about another person does not make you look bad, quite the opposite. It shows how much self confidence you have, just shut your mouth and let them have a moment.

I have to say, all of us "old folks" down here have no right complaining about the younger generation all needing their trophies, because the stroking needed by the older men is insane! Maybe it's just a coincidence, but in the last 4 months I have been back I have never met so many insecure men...." I've done this, I have that, I drive a little red" the list goes on. What is missing in their lives?
Anyway....if you all get a hole in one on a regulation course, a pitch and putt or even just a putt.....Congratulations!!!!

Please don't tell me you're comparing #7 at Pebble to any of the 75 yard holes on exec courses here. Please don't. Yes, it is 92 yards downhill, but often into a 40+ mph wind. Even Nicklaus stated he has hit 5 iron to that hole. Additionally, just try to skull a driver into the hole there, rotsa ruck.

I saw a picture in the paper of people enjoying themselves at a Town Square. Really??

Lisanp@aol.com 02-01-2023 09:39 AM

I got a hole in one at the Clifton Cove Course - does that count? Celebrate LIFE and all of it's triumphs!

Nicklaus should take a lesson from Brian's home course. Those boys would nullify the wind by putting 75 yds.

it isn't 75 yards from the tips is it? I remember once watching the old Bing Crosby there, and the pros (old crappy balls and clubs, of course) were hitting woods and long irons into a stiff wind. I can't remember the distance, but probably 185, which of course was like 220 in today's world.

I can't remember who the pro was but he took his club out, and knocked it 50 yards into the ocean. Seems the wind took that particular moment to stop for a rest. The look on that guy's face, and the look he and his caddy shared was priceless.

But, the hole, and your comment, do illustrate that distance isn't everything.

EDIT: it wasn't #7, it was #17.

Is that the new put-down for someone who posts a thought that might be sensitive to another human being's situation?

If so, you should be really proud of that post.
