There are some really wowser homes all over this place.

You been to The Village of Harmeswood, Joldnol? Or Glenbrook? Pennecamp on the lake?

Amazing homes everywhere in The Villages, North of 466A for sure.. Look at this one for sale in Harmeswood, Joldnol. I think the red is a bit much but great bones.

The Villages is comprised of gated communities. But they are not restricted-access communities. Big difference.
Our first agent never mentioned that the County owned the roads and everyone could enter.
I believe many VLS & MLS agents intend to give the impression it's a restricted-access community.

Bridgeport at Lake Sumter. Bridgeport at Lake Miona. The concentration of wealth is definitely not limited to south of 466A.
However I think with new construction going on, and new neighbors moving in, it may be harder to monitor stranger-danger activity.

Thanks!

Hey Tinker, THANKS!!! Love a design that is so simple. Nice work. Oh, not work, fun. I forgot you are retired. Must have been good at whatever you did...

South of 466a has had it's share but quite a few are occurring north of it. You want to know why it is targeted? Look at the concentrated wealth South of 466a vs north of 466. It has nothing to do with Wildwood, Leesburg or Fruitland Park. For those of you that have a false sense of security because you live near Lake Sumter, realize you are just as accessible as Pinellas. None of us live in a gated community.

What do you base this "concentration of wealth" on??

DianeM 02-28-2015 12:55 PM

I don't understand the concept of concentrated wealth. Is this a "Robin Hood" type of theory? Does this mean it's okay for the creeps to rip off someone with the appearance of the few extra bucks that they have invested in their homes? More than likely the people who own those homes worked like dogs for 40+ years and are now enjoying the fruits of their labors.

To me concentrated wealth means an area comprised largely of people well above the median income. Obviously anyone who lives in The Villages has a certain degree of wealth not found in other areas just around us. I think it is an easy concept to understand.

Check out a developing country. Appreciate what you have, enjoy it but protect it.

graciegirl 02-28-2015 01:31 PM

If you are lucky enough to live in The Villages.

You are lucky enough.

Eighty thousand to two million, the same lifestyle exactly and hardly anyone CARES. I know I don't.

DianeM 02-28-2015 01:32 PM

I was being facetious. It just seems that the implication posted indicates it's okay rip off someone who earn their present lifestyle.

DianeM 02-28-2015 01:33 PM

I could not care less about anyone economic situation. You have whatever you have and I have whatever I have. In the end when you're dust, didn't mean anything

A lot of people who retired out of this state do not have an inkling of what Fl incomes are.

A retired school teach from NYC gets a bigger pension that a school principal makes here.

So, when you display your assets and confide in your hair dresser--you're advertising to get ripped off. Don't tell any one when you're going out celebrate or you're talking a cruise.

Be smart and learn how to shoot straight--most of us are to old to fight but we can still pull a trigger

Seems like its more and more everyday, about the guns.........................

Chatbrat 02-28-2015 03:42 PM

Police are always minutes away when seconds count

In Fl you don't need a permit to keep a firearm in your car

Word to the wise

Only if it is fully encased/not readily accessible for immediate use.
