Do you live south of 44? I do and I go to the Willow Tree mail station every day and there are no such signs there, never have been. I just got back from driving to 5 mail stations in Fenney, De Soto, McClure, and Monarch Grove, there are NO signs there like you describe. I did not drive to Marsh Bend as this was a fool's errand. Who told you there were signs?

You are correct. The postal stations are a place to socialize and our dogs need to socialize as well. My typical practice is that when I pick up my mail my dog comes with me. We don’t take our grandchildren up there anymore because it is crowded and the residue from dogs urinating and defecating is not a healthy environment for them to play in the grass and pick up corn bags.

5. Now, with limited access at certain times and little monitoring, some dog owners are now letting their dogs loose on the golf course playing frisbee and doing business on the greens.

You are right, I don’t need to be posting on TOTV, although I have an extensive career and a PHD, I obviously do not know how to word things, even though no matter how I worded my post, something tells me the results would have been the same.

In closing, if any of you frequent users of TOTV can tell me how and if I can close this thread, I would be deeply appreciative. Proud to be known as the nice guy, loved by family and respected by friends and colleagues. Makes for a wonderful life.

On the hot road surface. Because we don’t want his paw pads to get burned. Look this up online and you will see how painful it is for your dog. The grassy area by the mailbox I’d perfect for our dog to run on a leash. We pick up any deposits he makes and bring them home to flush them away we do not throw them in the trash can at the postal station nor would we find that acceptable. Remember our dogs need to get out and get exercise just like we do if you are respectful of the area you take your dog snd the people who are around I don’t think it matters much where that is.

Probably because some people complained about dogs crapping in the grass areas of the postal stations north of Route 44. When they started building the new areas, TV management decided to ban dogs from the recreation areas like Willow Tree.

Since the mail boxes are within the recreation areas, I guess that means you cannot have your dog with you when you go to check your mail.

First, I love dogs, have had many, man’s best friend
1. Why do you drive your car or cart up to the postal center to do their business and for no other purpose. I see the same people do this three or four times a day.
2. Why is it that you come to get your mail and get your dog out of your cart or car to do their business?
3. Why do you drive your cart and let the dog try to keep up with you along the street knowing you can not get out and pick up the business?
4. Why don’t you walk your dog to do their business in your own yard?

I am perfectly okay with people walking their dogs in the neighborhoods and am even acceptive if they have to do business ( you never know when nature is going to call) in my yard, as long as they pick it up. We all need exercise and fresh air, our pets included.

Am anxious to hear only from those that use the above as a common practice. If you do not have anything nice to say with a logical explanation, please do not post. My understanding is that the postal center is for a place to pick up your mail, socialize with neighbors and enjoy the amenities adjacent such as shuffleboard etc. They are amenities provided and paid for by the residents, they are not dog parks.

It is an example of how one group of individuals take over something and subvert it for their own purpose rather than the purpose it was intended for. If not corrected immediately they assume that it is now their right to use as they see fit and they become offended and aggressive in defending their usurped turf, not unlike a gang taking over a neighborhood. Imagine a group of dog owners taking over the pickle ball courts because they provide a safe, enclosed place for dogs and turning them into dog parks. They would have no clue why the pickle ballers would object to sharing their space. Same clueless mentality.
