It's almost 300 sold but that might include building lots, not sure. If we have to wait until 750 homes are occupied there will most likely be a march on Washington. I don't know the legality of non-postal employees handling, sorting, and handing out mail.

I believe it’s 25% per section

Probably no different than a mail room handling first class in an office building.

There are sub-contractors doing it all The Villages....must be legal.

Nope, we have to go to the sales office and ask for our mail. We also do not get mail on Saturdays nor do we get priority mail delivered to the door, have to ask if we have any packages. We can't even drop off a letter that we want to mail out. Really a PITA

The sales office will take mail to send out, been doing it now for about 3 weeks.

I remember when there were no zip codes and our phone number started with two letters.

You are correct, but large cities had a two digit zone number. I don't think that small towns had that.

You are also correct about the phone numbers. The two letters represented a word, i.e., LI stood for Livingston, as an example. However, in south Jersey, all the phone numbers were only five digits.

Life was so much simpler way back then . . . or was it??!?

It depends on who you ask. We have been told to take it to the post office by the staff.

I believe they are hired by the post office. The volunteers at the sales office are not.

I'm sorry to hear this, like I said we've been doing it for 3 weeks now with no problem.

It was simpler. The fact that no one can remember their phone number anymore but I still remember PY1-7524 from 60 years ago. PY stood for Pyramid.

No volunteers, all are paid employees.

How about the party line in our area back yonder. I wonder if that was a countrywide thing or just in the hood?

According to the Sumter Co property appraiser website, through the end of July, 97 homes have closed.
