Didn’t say go out of business, just shut it down for a few months. The developer has multiple lines of revenue and not all are related to building (obviously building is the largest). The point is this could be a game of chicken, and being a private company means they can do what they want. What do you think would happen if thousands and thousands of people working here were suddenly unemployed? The developer has a lot of power over the economy here and could make it very difficult for the commissioners if they wanted.

Many people think raising the impact fees will have no impact, I disagree because it is basic economics. The county has grown tremendously due to the developer. This growth could be threatened for all businesses if the impact fee rate gets too high. Again, my hope is they will work it out before July so the economy can continue to grow and keep our taxes low.
