I bought a Maytag from Best Buy along with other appliances. When you buy more than one appliance, Best Buy gives a reduced price on all of them. When you add their Geek Squad coverage, installation, removal of old appliances, and an additional year of warranty is included on everything you buy for the next year. The delivery and installation was excellent. I've been happy with the dishwasher and is probably the quietest I've ever had. I also really like the top rack for small items and large utensils. The model I got is:
Maytag - Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub, Dual Power Filtration, 3rd Rack, 47dBA - Stainless steel
Model:MDB8959SKZ SKU:6398239

Bosch is the best! My daughter has one that is over 8 years old and still working great. I love it because it really cleans and is sooooo quiet.

We purchase all appliances from Aggressive Appliances, 617 Mercy Drive, Orlando Florida. You can compare most brands from professional to inexpensive. They have their own installation and service technicians, parts inventory and great people. More choices than Lowes, Best Buy or Home Depot.

If you want to watch in-depth reviews on appliances, search Yale Appliances on You-Tube. They are one of, if not the, largest appliance story in Massachusetts's and their reviews are based on their statistics and experience. They will tell you the shortcomings of brands even if it is one of their product lines. Nationally recognized.

Whatever you consider, do not pick a Samsung. They make good TVs and phones, but horrible appliances.
I wouldn't want another Samsung appliance even if they gave it to me free.

Recently upgrades all of my appliances to GE. The old appliances were from 1996 so it was about time. Had a Kenmore Dishwasher made by Bosch. It was very quiet and worked well except drying plastic containers. It didn't use a heater so you could put plastic on either level but then there was pool of water in the dished bottom that had to be towel dried even if waiting till the next day to unload. We got the new appliances from a local appliance store because it was cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot since GE had a rebate that was only for independent retailers. It took months before all the appliances came in though. The new dishwasher is a GE GDT665SMN5ES. It is louder than the old Bosch but is still fairly quiet. It dries all the dishes except if they have a deep dish in the bottom of the cups. We pretty much wash the dishes before putting them in. Both the old and new dishwashers can't get baked on food clean even using the 211 minute cycle on the new dishwasher. The store recommended getting an extended warranty on the dishwasher since a number of people had issues. We went with GE since they were the only ones that had the Slate color.

Agree on Bosch. You do pay for what you get. On my 2nd and second one has a light on the bottom which shows that it is still on.

Sure you will find someone who says they have their dishwasher for 30 years lol but usually when they start giving you trouble 5-8 years out, most replace them for a newer unit.

The point is none are really silent. They all make some noise to one extent or another. That said look at the DB sound rating and get a good middle of the road dishwasher because you are going to need to replace it at some point.

When we were in NY we purchased a high end LG dishwasher for a LOT of money. It was pretty silent. When we got to the Villages i purchased a GE Cafe dishwasher at 1/3 of the price and it was rated a lot quieter than the crazy expensive LG we purchased a few years before.

We purchased GE Cafe because my wife wanted their double oven because of the features it had. After that we wanted to match the rest of the appliances.

As far as which brand is best, the unfortunate thing is it varies from year to year. Some LG refrigerators had huge compressor problems a couple of years ago. Now they are fine. A lot of people don't like Samsung and GE. GE has several lines of different quality. My suggestion is look at Consumer Reports when you are ready to purchase to get an idea of what's good at the time.

As far as where to purchase them. Everyone has a story. Some like Lowes, some like Home Depot, etc... We purchased from Lowes. Yes our double oven came with the glass smashed. A problem in packing at the factory but Lowes took it back immediately, ordered a new one and we had it installed 2 weeks later. Dishwasher came with a tiny dent. Same thing, Lowes ordered a replacement and a couple weeks later came and replaced the dinged unit.

Hope this helps.

You failed to mention Bosch. On our second and they are so quiet that they have a red light which shines on the floor showing it is in operation. On our second, only because we moved. It worked great for 5 years.
