Unfortunately we seem to have a need for this. :police::a20:

I have a feeling it's only the owners that think the property is worth that much. It was just offered at auction, and the highest bid was single digit million. Further "meetings" were to go on with the bidders.

Padua Stables did not sell during an auction held at the farm on Thursday | Ocala.com

Perhaps one of the bidders was the Morse family. That's a rumor started by moi!

It would be interesting to figure out how many of the rumors in the past few years about property acquisitions/development, etc., have turned out to be true. If anyone heard a rumor that turned out to be true, let's hear it! My untrustworthy recollection is that a lot of them came to be.

That auction was in 2012.

This farm has been for sale for quite some time and put up for auction maybe 2 years ago with no sale. The owner moved operations to Kentucky maybe 5 years ago.

Perhaps its a fire sale. As for the polo fields I was told, a common statement here in TV, that the developer was sold the Polo property as long as Polo was played there for 99 years....If this is true the 99 years are not up yet.

If it was sold for twelve million, no doubt that a valid appraisal would value it at that price or less . You can ask any amount , but if there is no buyer at that level , then that is not the value.

I sure hope that rumor is true!

The value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Sentimental value excluded.

Which is controlled by The Developer.

I still don't know one person, who knows what the developer, is going to do.

Until something happens, it's all speculation. IMHO

That pretty much sums it all up.

The Developer does NOT own the polo fields but some family members are involved in the ownership. The latest rumor is that the normal operations will be at Padua with the games still played at the present polo fields. This would still allow the development of several thousand acres for the building of homes.
