New England

Gotta love the weather in SW New Hampshire, cause golf $32 for 9 walking mid week, but a deal on the weekends at $36.
40's last week in the early AM, had to have the heat on and the AC yesterday.

Dam, it’s been hotter in New England than in Florida this week, and it’s going to stay that way through Thursday. Wishing we were at our Villages home, where we have A/C and a pool. The heat has brought out New Englands brutal, hard biting horse flies so it’s difficult to be outside. And to add injury to insult, I had to pay the holiday rate to play golf today (Juneteenth) on a friggin Wednesday at a practically empty golf course. Erggggg, missing the Villages!

For 2 days. Not a Heat Dome. Welcome to New England with 4 Seasons, not just ONE.

I remember hot days in CT. Out on Long Island Sound, the temperature was in the 70s, the salt air was wonderful, and sometimes the fishing was great.

Hotter up north

I’m in Virginia right now and the it’s pretty hot - in the 90s. Heading back to the bubble in four days. Can’t wait to get back into water volleyball!

Isn’t it a blessing to have two homes and be able to go back and forth with the seasons? Keep cool! The heat wave will pass. See you in the pool.

Currently sitting on the porch overlooking the lake, listening to the Loons. The temp is 57 but will get up to 68 today. It’s a little chilly in Mn, about 100 miles N of Mpls. Golfed 18 holes yesterday on a beautiful course for $48 with cart. After golf had an amazing Walleye dinner in the clubhouse restaurant. Summers at the cabin in Mn are the best!

And we had a level 1 New England Grid alert!

New England Power Grid Declares Emergency as Temperatures Soar - BNN Bloomberg

At least Florida rebuilt its grid for both heat and hurricane damage minimization

My wife and I were thinking the same thing...cooler at our home in Summerfield than here in Maine! Heck, it was 4 degrees hotter way up in Fort Kent, Maine than at our Summerfield home. You can't go much further North than that and be in the U.S.
We are lucky to have AC and a pool here too though. I am starting to understand the whole snowbird thing though... best of both worlds most of the time but the temps can flip flop on us from time to time. Much more comfortable here in Maine today after last nights storm!

I feel your pain!!! Yesterday was 90 here in Bar Harbor until the storms rolled in. First time it hit over 75 all summer long and it came with a vengeance!! Fortunately we are back into the 60's, low 70s for the next two weeks.

A couple more days like this, and we will be getting health warnings, and a hose pipe ban!

Wait what is a hose pipe ban?

Joe

You can't use a hosepipe for things like watering your garden, filling a paddling pool or washing your car.
If you need to use water outside, for example to water your plants, you are still able to do that, but with a watering can or a bucket, and I fill them from my hosepipe!

The real feel temp is going to be over 100 for the next several days.

I played the Pennsicola nine on Juneteenth. 7:28 teen time. No crowds. Played alone. Shot 41. Loved it.
