There's a filled in sink hole at the corner of Bellerose Trail and Evelynton Loop in Lynnhaven. The sink hole was a foot or two from the storm drain at that corner of Bellerose Trail on the road and was about 2 feet by 3 feet and about 4 feet deep.

They have barricades out now so that the area can dry from the work they did on it yesterday.

No houses are affected that I can tell.

O.K. guys. My garage floor has a place that sounds "hollow" when I walk on it. What do you think?

If it sounds hollow while just walking on it the first thing i would do is make sure my auto insurance is up to date and paid for. Good luck .

Before we purchased I found a government geological website and thought buying in Sumter County was better for sinkholes. Guess what, three homes within a few blocks of ours have had sinkholes form under them. We witnessed truck after truck for days bringing in cement to put under the homes. There are engineers that specialize in this type of problem but hopefully we will never have to deal with one of them.

I believe the insurance issue has changed this year. We have Travelers and renewal is Sept 1. We got a letter from them that sink hole coverage is no longer part of the standard policy and is now an add on at our option. It cost about 10% more and carries a 10% deductable.

We went with the option of getting it.

You do not have to pay a 10% sinkhole deductible. My deductible is only $ 500.00 and sinkhole was included in my renewal.
