The truth about Tenn. traffic cameras | Columbia Daily Herald
This is interesting about speed cameras. They should get more unmarked cars out there. |

Thank you Tal. The article cited clearly explains all the concerns expressed by many with the application of red light cameras. the fact is the time allotted for a caution light is 3 to 6 seconds. By manipulating the caution light traps drivers and hence tickets flow or rather cash. Speed traps do the same thing and we did have one town north of here that did so while traveling on 301 I become concern when people speak in absolutes and limit their focus as we are witnessing here. |

I had not heard of that before. I have often found that the bigger the house the smaller the heart of the person it it. |

I've heard some people take out a reverse mortgage simply to get a bigger house. Stupid is more like it in this case. |

Traded in Golf Cart.
One thing that may help stop speeders in the Villages. You may get a much lower rate of trade in if you drive you golf cart a lot over 21.
The salesman at the Villages Golf Cart in Sumter Landing did a test drive or our Yamaha we were going to trade in and checked how often it got over 22 when he floored it. I did get up to 24 or so but not that often. I guess you damage the motor going at a top speed often. This is just what he said. I am no mechanic of golf carts. We did get a nice trade in for the old Yamaha. |
If we paid police with speeding tickets fines they would be rich

Any car made will exceed any posted speed limit--bigger houses don't mean a thing--its your net worth that counts--too bad no one is comfortable posting their approximate net worth--any guess how many multi-millionaires there are in TV

Ok if you have retirement income with combined pensions & social security over $200K /year -you have the income of a millionaire-but it doesn't make you a millionaire

The topic is Speeding, not big houses or net worth/wealth. Please stay on topic or the thread will be closed.

Baseline tennis is boring, sometimes you have to mix it up with a little net play

When I was a kid there were several no-no's to any polite public discussion. You never discussed sex. You didn't discuss religion and you never ever ever inquired about how much money someone else had or said how much you had. It wasn't much for most, I was born in 1939 right after the depression..we had our shoes repaired and well I won't get into all that. That said, I love that everyone lives like a millionaire here. We will be driving along the beautifully kept thoroughfares and I will comment that the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellows didn't have as much well kept areas to drive in as we do living here. I love that you can sit at the square between a retired CEO of a fortune 500 company and a fellow who drove a bus all of his life and never, ever know the difference. Because what you have or had, and what you used to do really doesn't matter here. I love that. |

Really, "the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellows (whoever they are) didn't have as much well kept areas to drive in as we do living here"

I am pretty sure the vast majority of people don't care, nor should they as other people's net worth is their business.
