Square 1 is not violating any laws. This is their business model. Just like with any business, if you don't like their product or practices, don't patronize them.
None of us has a "right" to demand they alter their business (again, as long as they are not violating laws) just because we might prefer a different model. It really is that simple. If you don't like Chinese food, don't go to a Chinese restaurant. If you don't approve of alcohol, don't go to bars. And if you don't like the presence of dogs outside at a restaurant, don't go to Square 1. Everyone has choices, including business owners. |

Good enough burgers, but a very questionable decision to have dogs eating with the customers. I won't do it again because of that, but there are probably enough "dog-lovers" to keep them in business here. Most states have laws against that sort of filth.

If Fido on the patio is a problem, it seems to me a great opportunity to experience the indoor ambiance. Or one could be a real hardass and not patronize the establishment at all.

I think there may be many reasons people don't think dogs should be in a resturaunt but the allergy excuse doesn't work for me. I am allergic to shell fish. Should I demand it not be served at any resturaunt? As I said before, those who think it is ok will continue to think so. Those who think it is not ok will continue to think so.

Square 1 burgers should be served on the town Square. That would be a good fit, in my opinion.

Interesting comments. In Germany well behaved dogs are with their owners inside and outside under tables, but they can't go in food stores. Small food stores have places to tie their leashes to.
If you wonder about what they track in on the soles of their feet, we all track in dirt on the soles of our feet, it is a germ filled world. What about babies who now seem to be in restaurants all the time? do they leave germs when they spit up. The allergy argument is why we can not get peanuts on the plane anymore and why smokers can't smoke, but the Governments want their tax money. I say let people do what they want and let customers vote with thei feet to places that they like. BTW, what about all the bird poop on the outside tables? |

I personally would prefer dogs over humans when dining. |
