I am very disgusted that construction, landscapers, etc workers are allowed to use our pool facilities. We do pay for the pools, and should not have to feel insecure in our safety while we are enjoying the pool. Why are The Villages allowing this? If we need a pass to get into a pool, then this is not public facilities to use. The workers come in with dirty shoes, landscapers with dirt or fertilizer on them and we are walking in the same area with bare feet. There are portable potties, and also public restrooms at the bocci courts.NO workers are needed to be entering our pools.

FYI.

This has been discussed on ToTV a number of times.
The big question/comment out of prior threads:
Where else should they go??
Let's not act like we are better than others.

I guess they could have used the pool instead of the restrooms, like some of the swimmers. Now THAT would make ME feel uncomfortable.

I’ve sometimes wondered about these people who mow our lawns, prune and weed, clean our pools, fix things. They never seem to ask to use our bathrooms, and they have much more self control than do most dogs. So where do they go? Where should we expect them to go? The restroom at a pool or rec center seem like good options. Those are going to be cleaned daily anyway.

And as for feeling uncomfortable, it’s not like they are likely to carry away retired people and have their way with them. These are people who work hard in the hot sun and really don’t want to be arrested or spend years in prison or even be accused of something that would get them fired or banned from working here.

A bathroom is a bathroom.

Wow! Unsafe like maybe these contractors would harm you? It might have been a one time situation. I would hope using the bathroom while these men are working in the area would not be that big of an issue. I'm sure Taylor gets these petty complaints often.

There’s a little knob on the top of the gate…lift the knob and swing the gate open….

So you actually counted 19 contractors between 8:30 and 10:00. 😂😂😂wait until she gets her clipboard out and starts monitoring your house. 😂😂😂

This is not a developing nation, using the restrooms is a good thing.

I believe there is an instructional course you can take to defend yourself from unscrupulous workers who may want to jump in the pool. I think it's called Noodle Ninja.
How to use your noodle to thwart off those shady characters.

Once the Ezell Rec Center is complete, they can use those rest rooms. I wouldn't expect them to travel to Aviary to use the facilities, nor would I want them to use the great outdoors as a rest room. In my area of SC, there are porta johns, which the contractors use.

You didn't feel "safe", why? IT's 8:30 -10:00 am in the Morning! Broad Daylight! Did they approach you? Were they being obnoxious? Get over your paranoia!

Jean G 06-23-2021 07:16 AM

I had the same problem when I was first here. I toured a rec center and went out a back door into the pool area. The door locked behind me. I couldn’t get out of the gate and had to ask someone for help. How embarrassing!
