It is illegal to actually go over 19.6 (except LSV's that are street legal).

So perhaps you go turn off that governor and let it rip at the Polo field race track.

I'd pay a few bucks to watch that mayhem!

AHHHHH! The question rears it's head again. Sumter County Sheriff has said that "souping up" amounts to illegal alteration of factory safety equipment.

Probably so, but unless the catch you going over the limit they wouldn't know. Of course I'm not suggesting that anyone break the law:)

Seems like "capable of" as stated in the statute would cover that.

Anyhow, this isn't April 1, is it ?

The operative words in the statute are,"capable of exceeding 20MPH". I don't know where 19.6 MPH comes from but that is the max speed of my 02 Club Car as measured by GPS and a timed measured mile.

When there is an "Unlimted" class...count me IN!

Like something out of a Seinfeld episode.

Don't bet on it... Up north where I come from, they have organized lawnmower races and they go a lot faster than 20 MPH. And you and I know, there are a lot of carts that can do well in excess of 20 MPH in The Villages:crap2:.

Can't imagine a law being written like that. Every golf cart would violate it! Just take the brake off and roll down hill !

It is really sad that a good satirical post can be turned into the 19.6 mph and over boondoggle. Would you guys please let it be and allow us to have a little pun!!!

That's the way the law is worded.

My thought exactly! I am really sorry I mentioned it, as I only meant it to be describing a funny situation......
