Over my lifetime I have resided in cities in various parts of the country. What I have found is that it takes about a year but my body adjusts to local climate conditions. That being said, the older I get the better I like living in a warm to hot climate. I no longer tolerate cold (which I never really liked) very well. My body just feels better when it is warm.

As I am down in TV for two weeks, how do you keep the house cool in this hot weather? My two year old Holly design is in a neighborhood without shade trees and is struggling to maintain temperature at 74. In fact, it is now 79 inside with the air conditioner running all of the time. To keep my Ohio house at a temperature of 69 with the outside temp 0 is easy to do. I hope I made it through pickleball 102 tomorrow after only two days to acclimate. Oh boy is it hot today inside and out.

Call your HVAC contractor - you have an issue with your system.

One thing I don't do is run the oven during this hot weather because it makes a big difference in the house temperature. Our heat pump is working harder than normal today for sure.

I took my son to Animal Kingdom yesterday! I got so hot pushing the wheelchair around the park. I wouldn't have stayed, except we had relatives from California here to visit! Good thing the little ones entertained me.

We are set at 80 and our Lilly stays at 78. Air hardly comes on.

we have a Holly model. We keep the air at 78 in the daytime and 76 at night. The AC doesn't run all the time, and it's holding temps fine. Have your AC checked.

I get up and out earlier in Summer.

Love the heat...humidity...sun. Played golf in it Monday. Just remember to use plenty of sun tan lotion and keep hydrated.

Its more the humidity than temperature that I cannot abide.

Weather is only one factor. Our decision was based on tax laws income, estate, etc However with the weather consider that what you gain in January you lose in June. I loved spring, summer, fall up north and it wasn't the cold winter but accompanying snow that became bothersome.

We were not moving away from any family so that part was easy. I have acquaintances here who can't get back north fast enough because they miss kids, grand kids parents ,etc

Finally I did miss big city living in the beginning but we all adapt

Amen. I've been in Fla for 53 years. In my teens through my 30's I spent a lot of time outdoors. In 1973 I spent 58 hours/week during the summer building the drains for I 95 from Cocao to Melbourne. I could handle the heat but not now in my 60's.......

Munn’s people must be very busy people this time of year as it took me several tries to get through their system. They can check out my air conditioner next Thursday. As it was leaking coolant on my in warranty check last fall, I hope the fix if needed will be covered by them.

If they are as good as the pickle ball 102 volunteer trainers were today in this heat, I will be extremely happy.

Part of the solution to the heat for me is desire. I want to be here so bad that I am doing as instructed with the water as it is the key. This Villages lifestyle house is beautiful and the air conditioning is a dream. It was so cold it was painful till we got a hold of the best temperature. I've been drinking water like a camel with 3 humps. This heat is like nothing we have ever experienced but I'm determined to make it work. :thumbup:
