I assume this is a new home. If so, you have a 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty. If the system was leaking coolant last fall, why wasn't it addressed?

It's just that I got a big chuckle out of your use of 'suntan lotion.'

I think we all remember when the purpose of putting something on your skin in the sun, was to increase the tanning affect.

We now know of course the extreme damage and danger of the sun outdoors and now we use 'sunscreen.'

My, my, at how things change.

Everybody cross your fingers and toes and whisper a prayer that these folks find just the right place.

If someone can tell the difference between 97 and 102, then they are really good. Myself, most places here are so cold, that it feels good to go outside and feel nature. We keep our A/C on 83 and anything less is too cold for us. The only time I minded the heat was during the last two Saturday morning softball games, and they only last an hour so it's no big deal.

I've lived in Florida off and on since 1959, that was the 4th grade for me. Also spent about 8 years in Georgia, that place is even hotter. I did spend 20 years up north and the hottest I remember was every August in Baltimore, we would get at least 15 days near 100. I usually went to the BBQ Festival every August, but one year I stepped out on my deck and said, we're staying home this year. They held it at a parking lot in downtown in Bel Air, so it was even hotter between the asphalt and the BBQ ovens cooking.

Munn's came today and added over 2 pounds of refrigerant to the system. I delayed the fix because they wanted to wait to see if it continued to leak. So, it’s now time for them to find and fix the leak under warranty.

I once heard it said that when you are looking for a place to live compare the weather on February 2nd and then make your decision.

They need to "wand" the evaporator and condenser coils with a refrigerant sensor. If it was down 2 pounds then there are only two possibilities; the system was undercharged or there is a leak. They should never have left without looking for a leak and scheduling a repair date if they have to order parts. Leaks don't repair themselves.

The flip side of that are the folks who say "after minus 20F, it doesn't really matter."

That instantly tells me they've never been in minus 50F (ambient, no wind chill equivalency), or even probably minus 20.
