I like my neighbors and the average people in TV Land. I am NOT fond of the greed and avarice displayed by the rich and powerful. I am NOT fond of the tax structures that encourage EXCESS wealth and power. TV Land - similar to capitalism - has a lot to offer, but should be STRONG enough to tolerate criticism. That may or may not have been the original point of the thread. However, the preponderance of the racist posts that followed may reveal some deep psychological fears and attitudes of this older generation living in TV Land. It is not pretty - seeing America divided into tense, waring TRIBAL camps. Hating on "the OTHER".

Excessive hating "the other" has historically lead to national destruction (WW2). We live in tense times - let us all HOPE that we get through this in one piece as a country.

I didn’t see the OP as racist at all. To me, it was newsworthy. It’s the first I had heard of this robbery. And people should be aware.

Are we not allowed to THINK? I have to say that I have come from nothing to something in the last couple of years. I didn't use to have negative feelings about any racial group. I don't LIKE feeling this way.

Haven't seen this in the Sun. Oh, still haven't seen the June 6 car going over the Belle Glade Calusa #7 Bridge either. Wonder if the break in is even reported as an "incident" in the police blotter as the Calusa incident was not despite about 6 police cars, fire trucks and EMS.

And wasn't there an incident at World of Beer in Brownwood?

Guess per the Sun this stuff hasn't really happened, not here. If they don't report it it didn't really happen.

Pretty sure that's the point of the description. If whoever is reporting this couldn't tell anything more specific than "dark skin," then "dark skin" IS the best they can do.

In a dark store, in the middle of the night, where the criminals are fully clothed and masked and wearing gloves, it's a wonder anyone could even tell that their skin was light or dark at all.

In describing law breakers, it is no longer allowed to say black, white, hispanic Asian. And sometimes that keeps people from catching law breakers.

In the instance this week of the stealing of liquor, on the online news, they were described and there were pictures of them. They were black.
