Rent on Red week

We have a Marriot timeshare at Grand Ocean in prime season and have been successful in renting it easily using Red Week and easily getting a lot more than our fees for it. it's actually a good deal.

We sold ours back to Marriott- of course they only gave us half the purchase price.
But we were happy it was over..[/QUOTE]

Sounds like you did well. Most are worth 0.

How much is "a lot" more than your fees? How much was the initial outlay?

I see that I can buy one outright on eBay for $1200 right now for December.

If you are gifted a timeshare, refuse the gift. If you inherit a timeshare, disclaim the inheritance in writing. You may need a lawyer to do it for you.

Timeshares = scam.

I guess I assumed corporate time share sales were a thing of the past but today I get a call from Hilton about taking a cheap vacation if I listen to their time share presentation, wow!
