I guess [for me], I WANT them to know who I am. If I have a valid complaint or suggestion, I'd like them to know who to contact for more information.

I don't like participating in anonymous surveys ...

I'd like to see another way for those of us wast of 441/72 to get to the other side in our golf carts. Currently the golf cart bridge is the only route.
I live in Silver Lake (The "Historic District") about a half mile from the CVS on Avenida Central. In order to get to CVS, I travel a mile to the bridge and then another mile from the bridge to CVS. It's actually almost 2-1/2 miles.

A tunnel would be nice from Griffin Ave to Avenida Central.

Another tunnel going from the Target shopping center to the Best Buy area would also be great. And while we're at it, how about golf cart access to Home Depot and Sam's Club.

Some of this could be accomplished by simply allowing golf carts to use the cross walk between Griffin and Avenida Central over 441/27. If it's safe enough to walk across, how is it not safe for a golf cart?

Notgolfer, this is not "up north", and by the way you forgot to mention Dunkin Donuts my favorite from "up north". Seriously, I think we do have enough coffee spots to hang out in.

With some of the worst drivers (poor eyesite, reduced hearing, slower reflexes) in the country here in TV, lower speeds are needed, not faster.

If people can't drive at reasonable speed limits, they shouldn't have a license. Sorry, but I see too many people in cars that have no business driving.

I believe that you have to take an eye exam in order to get a license. I think that after age 60 we should all have to take an eye exam, hearing exam and road test every two years. If your eyes, ears and reflexes are not good enough to drive a car at reasonable speeds, then you shouldn't be driving.

We have these ridiculous speed limits and then we allow 14-16 years olds to drive gold carts on public roads without a license.

Someone whose eyesight is poor or mental capacity is diminished is a danger at any speed.

Speed limits are made for competent drivers. I am tired of being treated like a child because of some people who cannot drive

This is a great thread. Just had a breakfast discussion while reading the comments.
I agree w BTKid on improving what we already have.
I've used the gyms less often than I should but haven't had any problems with wait times, just altered my routine a bit.
I'd love to see indoor pools, but at the end of the day it still wouldn't enough to accomodate everyone, so I'd settle for what we have.
I'd like to see some improvement in golf cart safety. There are areas that are really risky to cross such as 466A@ Colony, the one road going into LSL, travel along Rio Grande. I love taking the cart where ever I can but find it unsafe sometimes. Another area is turning left in a car from BB&B area across Rolling Acrea, could use some sort of traffic control. I agree that it would be a good idea to be able to get a golf cart across to the other lot. A bridge or tunnel might ease up on street traffic there.
I think we should build a ski slope! (Just kidding).
A thought that came up is to institute a "wait list" for guests that want to make an attempt at getting into the pool classes. They wait in line with everyone else but those with FT residency go 1st and if space is available, guests can enter.
Thanks for all the great thoughts!

Would like to hear the music from the squares while I watch the nightly WebCams from LSL, SS, and Brownwood.

More Publix supermarkets.

I've been running on the Morse bridge the last couple of days and I noticed the landscaping is hanging way over the golf cart path on the lake side which to me is quite dangerous.

It's in between the two sidewalk areas on the bridge. As I'm running, I either have to push it out of my way to clearly see past it or go around it. I could foresee a runner or walker meeting a golf cart head on in those areas. Even the golf carts would have to swerve past these areas and go into the other lane since it's not a very wide area to pass. Dangerous.

the sports pools are very popular at certain times, and for certain activities, but at other times they are empty

I should like to see the "Residents Only" restriction lifted on a few of those empty spots so that we may take our visitors to them with us

We need a center for the arts building. Mainly someplace to have musical performances. The Savannah Center is too small and has very poor acoustics. I know it was attempted to do something about this before but this place is nothing more than a glorified ( barely ) gymnasium. There are towns with smaller populations than The Villages that have a performing arts center.

Town Square Shuttles

I still would like to see town square shuttles such as those used at the Morse Bldg. and TVH. Many people are not able to walk the long distances from the outer parking areas, especially on event nights when there are no spaces around the squares. This could be a great joint venture between TV and the merchants.

Seriously there are many items on this wish list that are just not well thought out. If people want indoor pools then form committees to raise money for them and sign up people who will pay a fee to use them. because otherwise the pools are going to be far too costly to residents with little use. The Wellness Center discovered that with their indoor pool. It was a losing proposition...and remember the Wellness Center fees were much more expensive than at MVP.

You want a place for the Arts, etc again form a committee and raise funds to build it and then sell tickets to those people who want to go to a show etc.

The speed limits are just fine. the problem too often is that some folks are actually going slower than the actual speed limit and creating back up.

Gosh it is costing all of us enough now and as the years pass these fees, taxes ,etc are going to sky rocket. I am not pleased with the manner in which my government is irresponsibly spending my tax dollars and that is how I view some of these suggestions on this thread

so before you make a suggestion sit down with pencil and paper and work out the details and then list the pros and cons including the total number of people you know will utilize these services. Then submit your rationale to The Villages government explaining why it will make living here a better place for everyone

As was stated by btk focus on commercial enterprise and become a loyal customer of theirs.

If I had to think about all I'd like to see improved, my number one would be the golf cart portion or the bridge on Morse just south of 466. Golf carts come within inches of each other passing south and north. I always pull in my side view mirror before crossing. It is that close.
