I Offen thought about boxing a months' worth of junk mail and mark it "Return to Sender".

Personal information can be bought for a few bucks online. Tear it up and toss

Seems reasonable from how quickly we got junk mail after moving here.

They had to get our info somewhere.

They do get information from a lot of somewheres. Credit card companies sell that information, and when you purchase something on the internet that company sells customer info. Banks and insurance companies sell information. Loan companies sell information. Internet and cell phone providers sell information. Charities sell personal information. Property records in most municipalities are public information. There are companies that specialize in gathering information on people and sell it. There is no privacy anymore!

That ship sailed a long time ago. If you have a credit card, drivers license, passport, magazine subscription, Bank Account, TV cable or streaming service....your personal information is everywhere. How do you think they do credit checks?

well that tells me you don't know a lot about those systems, or what I am referring to. but thanks anyway for chiming in.

Hey if we didn't have to put up with all the junk, our taxes would have to increase to support the USPS!

Babubhat 02-16-2022 06:03 AM

Florida sells your voter sign up information . Little is off limits

yeah go ahead and trust them , that's ridiculous to think they don't. based on what the average person here spends, sometimes a ridiculous spend, plus how many people I see posts of rip off prices.... what do you think a list is worth? I see it as large money around here. There is a lot to pluck from. but y'all can live in the bubble cobweb and believe whatever.

To directly answer that question, I have various methods that come from 43 years of IT security on a federal level . add to that a former hacker. I can tell where and how things get where, it's a built in instinct from the job.

so based upon several key factors and data tracking , that's how. fact is I don't trust anyone designed like they are.

When you bought your house in your name it was recorded and is available to the world. Easiest way to avoid your issue is to buy a house in a trust's name. You'll still get junk mail, but will be addressed to the trust.

As to TOO much junk mail, it goes right in the mailbox garbage pail in front of the mailbox building. It full most the times later in the day after all have collected there mail. Easy to dump.
