Simply not true. They’re assigned to a homeowner(s), and are uniquely linked to them. That’s why you have to bring in remaining gate cards if one is lost or stolen.

"I think your rumor is incorrect since you don't have access to the data base."

So, if you make a cloned chip, you need to make it using your own resident card. Otherwise, they could deactivate your cloned chip by deactivating the resident card from which it was made, in which case, your resident card would still work, but the chip would not.

Precisely

Don't know if that is true since none of us have access to the database...

But, it makes sense because there is a limit of 4 cards per household. The only way they could enforce the limit is if they can deactivate a lost card when they issue a replacement. In fact, I did lose a card once, and they told me they were deactivating the lost card. I didn't know whether to believe them or not.

Theoretically, they could deactivate all of the resident cards and reactivate them with a different code. That would render all of the cloned chips useless. But, you could just reclone the chip if you have a cloning device.

I have two vehicles and two carts, I have and paid for Four Village Cards, what’s the problem, this sounds like cheating The Villages!

No difference than taking your card back and forth between the car and the cart...

Personally, I'd rather not have to carry the card...

Yes. If you lose one, they deactivate the pair (that’s why they ask you to bring in the other card).

Nope, the cards have a unique serial number that can't be changed without replacing them.

. Wwwwwwrrrronnnnggggg. If they had a "new" (technology) gate system EVERY LAST CARD IN T.V. would need to be changed. They use the same 20 year old technology even in their "new" system. All they changed is the backend.

. There would be a freaking long line at their office if that happened, as 120,000++++ cards would have to physically reprogrammed. :1rotfl:

Thanks. I didn't realize that they cannot reprogram a card remotely.
