It is a personal thing.

It is Hot in the summer. I think hotter than the mid-atlantic area. I can deal with it, but the wife does not like it. Many people have their grandchildren down during the summer and there is some type of summer camp for them. Much noisier at the family pools with the kids screaming all the time. We did not want to own 2 houses, so we chose heat over cold & snow.

we love it here in the summer, actually more so than the wintertime when this place is full. snowbirds/renters crowd up the place and us full time residents seem to have much more respect for our lifestyle and community. we tend to be more laid back and patient and not so frenetic when it comes enjoying all that the villages ofers. so what if it is hot? it is hot and humid in new york and new jersey and illinois. and we have more air conditioning here and lots of pools (and we don't have to clean them!).

We had something like 25 days in a row in July with high temps over 95, and more than 20 days over 100 in the summer - I never saw a single day in TV with temps of 100.
I look at the weather on my computer every morning and I don't recall a day last summer when the temperature went over 93.
