I get passed often because if a cart comes up behind me I pull over and let them go by. I am retired and not in a hurry. Many people refuse to pull over and let faster carts pass. I find it much easier, and less stressful to pull over than getting tailgated.

Never.

I guess you have never been on the highway and you get some jackass who wants to be the speed control officer and drives in the passing lane the same slow speed as the car in the right lane ?

And how many have been passed by bikers while in your cart? That seems to be a bigger danger as those racing bikes can get up to 35-40 MPH.

I do not wish to argue but

I've had plenty of carts pass me while going 20mph. Even at 20mph, an emergency maneuver in a cart often turns out badly. They have poor brakes, poor suspension, and a small
wheel base. That's why they call them "golf carts".

If, you check you will find what I have said is correct.
You will also find that we agree.

Oh and the same people who do not care and think so long as they do not get caught it is ok. They are the same people that will bitch when they get caught. Assuming they do not severely injure of kill someone first.

Just last week, a cyclist in full riding gear and expensive bike, overtook my gas cart. I remind myself that I am retired and in no hurry

The average speed in the tour de france is 30 mph-I read that somewhere.

IMO About as often as I get passed by speeders on the roadways. if your speeder don't matter what your driving, your going to speed. but, the speeder has to have some mechanical ability or friend that know how to speed gas golf cart up. Now for the electrical golf cart is not as easy. Bigger amp motor, bigger tires, or reprograming. Either way speeder will find a way. Actually IMO 20 MPH in golf cart with out safety protection, ( Seat belts, arm rests and even bar across the opening, and even windshield wipers) too fast. But, depends on the skill of the drivers. I find that their are lots of air heads on the MMP, Diamond lanes, and roadways. They just don't pay attention IMO or lived sheltered life? :crap2::crap2:

What bothers me is when I'm driving my 20mph cart on a 20mph neighborhood street and I get passed by an automobile.

rjm1cc 05-15-2017 10:35 AM

My cart slows down (DC motor) when I go up hill and I will be passed by faster carts.

Hi Gracie,
well. I get passed almost every day when I am out with the golf cart..... but really I don't care. My GC runs 19.6 miles/H, and I like to drive it because I am here to relax and enjoy my time and everybody can see it because I am smiling while driving. I only pass (very seldom) when somebody goes very slow because I don't want to stay behind them so that they don't feel be under pressure or have to speed up because of me behind.

You are a good soul.

I get passed on the street a lot more than the trail. It is because I never go more than 20 MPH on the street. I don't want to pay the fine.
