A vaccine is just around the corner, listen to me please. This will soon go away, but you need to relax shhh close your eyes and relax.

Now I want you to take a drive go to the beach, get take out and relax.

Put on a Barry Manilow CD.

There is not a vaccine "around the corner". This is not going to be fixed or cured anytime soon. And if they announced today that a vaccine is ready. THERE IS NO WAY I'M STEPPING UP AND TAKING IT. We accept those who died and do the best we can to put our lives back together. I'm not going to live in fear of death

[QUOTE=DON10E;1773338]Sumpter County 253 confirmed cases and 13 deaths. Lots of evidence that this is an indoor virus. Open the doggone outdoor activities.

Here’s what so many seem to forget: IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE RISK, YOU DON’T HAVE TO PARTICIPATE!

Stopping others from living doesn’t improve your life at all.

ATTICA! ATTICA!!!

Tell that to the hospital workers in impacted areas they did not sign on to take the risk.

No such thing as an indoor virus it is about Exposure time and virus load. For now social distancing is the best measure available to protect everyone.

That is because there are still people getting sick from Covid-19. It appears to have waned in the summer, but it has not stopped and almost everyone who lives in The Villages still has a higher risk of dying from it, if they contract it.

What age range are you in, sir?

There have been two studies that have tracked this virus and both have found that the likelihood of acquiring the virus outdoors is extremely low. One tracked the spread in China of all cases outside of Hubei Provence between 1/4 & 2/11and found that 99.84% of the cases were acquired indoors. Another study from Japan shows that you are 18.7 times more likely to acquire the virus indoors.

For me nothing will change until there is medicine or a Vaccine that is effective.

Vaccine? First of all with a virus that has a 99% survival rate, it’s no different than the flu. We have a vaccine for the flu but 80,000 people still died from the flu. Even if a vaccine came out, I would not take it until it had been researched for at least a year or more. A vaccine is not the answer! The answer is people losing their overblown paranoia and getting out and living life again!

has everyone forgotten we're still awaiting a vaccine for aids ? ? ? if you want to live the next 25yrs inside your house, go for it,,, you'll miss a lot of life
anyone notice the article referring to covid as bacterium rather than virus ? aspirin would've saved lives according to italian autopsies

edp411@yahoo.com 05-30-2020 07:38 AM

Gyms are opening Monday
What’s taking so long ?

Whoa boss. What study that was " referring to covid as bacterium rather than virus" ???? Where did you read THAT??? Covid-19 is a brand new and nasty Corona Virus, bud. It ain't no bacteria. Although both are really nasty at times.

And "Aspirin could have saved lives according to Italian autopsies"....I missed that.

No one wants to stay inside, but the risk has not changed to people who are older. We run a far greater risk of dying from Covid-19 if we get it. I kind of now understand why murderers are so happy to get life imprisonment instead of execution...(just kidding)

My hope rests on there being some new medication that will be like an antiviral and take this virus down a peg or two, or getting a vaccine that will also diminish it's strength. BUT it is not over yet.

One of the ways covid 19 kills people is by blood clots. Aspirin, and many other chemicals can help mitigate this.

The risk of death to seniors over 65 who are infected has gone down quite a bit, now listed as 1.3% by CDC. The risk of dying from covid 19 if you are under 50 years old is listed at .0005, way way less than risk for flu, pneumonia, car crashes, maybe even lightning strikes. Maybe they can get back to work and you can stay inside until you feel safe.

No need to drive down there. There is plenty of live music going on all over The Villages where they have full bars and actual restaurants.

Some good points of debate, here. However. I have not read or heard about all the thousands upon thousands who have had the virus in its serious form, and what kind of permanent damage it has done to them.

😉😆

Clearly you do not understand how the COVID19 virus spreads. You participate in a group. You have an asymptomatic person with the virus in the group. You catch the virus. You feel fine but are now shedding the virus. You go shopping or out to eat. You infect someone that decided not to participate in the outdoor activities. They get sick.
Will this happen every time? Of course not. But if your inability to delay gratification can result in even one stranger catching the virus and dying I question your choice. I do not think a game of paddleball or basketball is potentially worth someone’s life, so I choose to not take the risk. But I can still be at risk if you ignore the pandemic. You actions and choices effect the community, not just you.
