That may work for some people. But, have you ever tried to buy shoes with a narrow width in a store? Or, a T-shirt or Polo shirt with a pocket? Or a pair of pants with the correct waist size and length? I have been in shoe stores that have thousands of shoes, and every pair is a medium width.

And that's *another* thing! How come I can't find a pair of blue jeans sold in an odd number of inches for the dern inseam?? :-) I have this concern that I may come across even *goofier* with that rolled up "cuff" like back in first grade. (Grade 1 for those from Canadia).

If it’s a name brand item, I will shop for it on Amazon and will only buy it if it’s much cheaper. If it’s close in price I always buy local. Amazon as well as Walmart carry cheap Chinese branded cr@p and it’s those items that are really cheap in price. We’ve tried prime 2x now and it doesn’t offer anything for the expense. Prime video was terrible, we only saw a couple shows we watched, Amazon music is not that good either, prefer the hires sites.

Even some items are delivered with in 24 hrs some B4 8am

Retail stores are carrying fewer items because of Amazon. Anazon has killed many retail stores along with thousands of jobs.

Try TEMU. Delivery is a bit longer but prices are better, returns are 90 days, and free shipping. Lots of interesting products that I haven't seen on other sites. Great online customer service.

Buy jeans from Lands End. They will will make the inseam any length you want in one-quarter inch increments.

Lowes and Home Depot have lost almost all of my business because Amazon sells everything that those stores sell. Why leave the house?

I get a little depressed whenever any of the delivery trucks go by our cul-de-sac without stopping out front. My FedEx guy sez he's gonna send me a montage of all the pics he's taken of me proudly posing with my packages.

Watched this interview of Bezos with Lex Fridman. Bezos was studying to be a theoretical physicist. Kinda sharp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcWqzZ3I2cY&t=0s

That is not to say that they are faultless however. A big problem with Amazon, IMO, is that a lot of stuff bought on their website is junk, primarily from China. Case in point: some years back the battery on my old(er) laptop died. Battery shop I stopped at in Bloomington, MN, quoted me a price of $70 for a new one--if they could get it, which was not guaranteed as it was no longer manufactured. I decided to shop Amazon for one, and found it...less than $20, titled with one of those phony names that Chinese manufacturing seems so good at using, and when it promptly arrived it fit perfectly. Trouble was it would stay charged for only 20 minutes or so at most, and when plugged in it would get VERY hot while charging. Another time I needed a couple of those little round batteries some appliances use...bathroom scales, headphones and the like...and found some. Two for something like $9m at Walgreen's or CVS. A card of the same battery model cost about $12 for a card of 20 at Amazon, so I figured the risk was minimal. Same problem: whereas the Walgreen's batteries lasted for months, these died in days. And some didn't work at all.

Caveat emptor.

I couldn't agree more that many of the items are mislabeled as original replacements. Many of the items are knockoffs of quality items.

I won't support or use the woke amazon!

We love it. I don't want to stand at Kohls for two hours while my husband shops for jeans. I order ten different pairs from Amazon, have him try them at home and return the ones that don't fit. Returning is super simple. You don't even need the packaging.

What’s amazing is that Wal-Mart is still bigger, in annual revenue!!
I always compare both before clicking “buy now”… but I love my Prime! :BigApplause:

I checked them out. Chinese company based in Ireland.

I've always kept in mind "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is", and that phrase kept running through my head as I clicked around TEMU's website. A few examples:

- A cordless electric drill, powered by 48-v Lithium battery, for $29.49. (DeWalt colors, but the brand is "JSD-HOPE").
- An 18 pc. drill bit set for $7.11
- 12-pc. screwdriver set for $5.98

And so on.

To be sure this does not represent everything they sell and they do have some stuff that seems realistically priced. But if you're shopping for tools I'd be VERY leery of their "bargains". I'm pretty sure I've seen the same or similar stuff, with pricing about the same, at Harbor Freight.

Really?. That's your big complaint?? Everyone ships with cardboard or plastic envelopes. If you are unhappy, shop local. Opps, paper and plastic bags there too.
