No one entity ALWAYS has the right of way, it depends on the situation. Golf carts are motor vehicles and have the same rules as cars except for speed limits and the type of road they can drive upon. The most obvious examples are the merge points------like any merge, the vehicle on the road has the right of way over the merging vehicle. NOT because it is a golf cart, but because they are merging. However, the signs before a merge require the car to slow down to 20 mph. That means if the merging cart has a 100-200 foot lead, they can legally merge. The car has no right to speed up to 40 to race ahead. |
Crossing 466A
I have seen Golf Carts crossing 466A NOT Legal !!!!

As a pedestrian I yield for all if it's close or even 20 feet away depending on speed. I walk around outside like I can wait when it comes to moving vehicles. No looking at phone, and don't wanna be dead right. Let 'em go. If it gets to where I'm waiting for many in one area, haven't gotten to that point yet, but that's where the traffic light helps.

A car travelling at 30 mph is going 44 feet/sec, at 20 mph it's 29 ft/sec. For your own safety, please revise your distances. |

What is the speed limit on Buena Vista?? Higher than 30. Carts are on it. What are the rules?? |

The cart DOES NOT have to be electric (what a joke) It can travel on roads with a speed limit of up to 35 mph It's not supposed to go over 25 mph And it can cross roads with a higher limit as long as both sides of the road it is travelling on are no more than 35 mph zones. |
