You're Probably Right

I believe the OP was basically kidding and stating that he wouldn't move here because of the heat and humidity.

I also feel that he was sarcastically putting down those who post negatively on here.

He even goes on to say: "Keep on defending your Village, enjoy your hot weather and do NOT let anyone tell you that you made a mistake moving there. If you enjoy yourself it is the right place for you and God knows you earned it."

Just my opinion!

You're probably right but isn't it odd that he waited a year before posting it?

Just for the record, I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories. There's probably a very logical explanation and I am a little slow sometimes.

It took a Yankee to get it thanks. You hit the nail on the head.

If that's the case, why did it take you five pages to explain yourself? Just sayin'...

Before we wrap this interesting thread up I'd like to say that we probably like TV, hmmm, about 90% which happens to be about 90% more than we liked where we lived in NC. I'm not crazy about the heat and humidity but it was almost as bad in NC and being near the coast in NC, we certainly didn't have to contend with snow! I found Vermont and all of the northeast to be charming and absolutely beautiful in the fall but it never occurred to us to retire there. After all, I'm from the great state of GEORGIA and my husband is a native Floridian! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A SOUTHERNER RETIRING UP NORTH?

The title of the long original post tells its purpose. It's a negative post with a negative title.

This is about the 80th time when I've said to myself, "I'm glad I didn't read this board before nor during our lifestyle preview stay, nor while renting for a couple of months when we bought a home here." We would have missed out on the time of our lives if we had listened to the tiny proportion of residents who actually comment here. This board has good info, but it is not representative of TV as a whole. Most people here don't even know what "Talk of the Villages" is when I've mentioned something I read here.

For goodness sakes folks, it was all in the last three sentences of his post:

I kept trying to tell everyone it was a joke but no one believed me or were afraid of breaking ranks and acknowledge it until ugotme finally did it. I never thought anyone would really think that (other than weather) any of those things I mentioned were valid reasons NOT to move to the villages, I mean really? Just tried to show how some people can find fault in anything no matter how trivial.

Sorry... I went back and read the original post, and I did not see any "joke" in it. It was pretty negative, and I felt the mea culpas at the end were just put there to try to soften the original opinions. If this was subtle humor, it fell flat.

Again, happy for you to live wherever you want. Not happy to have you lay it on the rest of us; just go do it. And that's my last comment on this thread. Hope it goes to bed.

Florida is not for eveyone. TV is not for everyone. However if your house is like mine the cat runs the house so pack your bags, sell your house, you are moving to TV

Oh Joyful...Someone funny and positive and witty to post to start my day.

Last night a small group of us went to hear The Villages Concert Band Christmas Concert. It was pouring rain and just not a pretty night...but the music from those 140 EXCELLENT musicians warmed our hearts and made our toes tap.. and afterwards all came to our house for soup and sandwiches and pie and with the tree lights on and the joy in our hearts... Well..There is no place like home for the holidays.

Was wondering when someone would post something to get things rollling again - been a little boring on TOTV lately.

I just found one more reason to move to TV

:bigbow:

It's 19 degrees here right now.

:cold:

Sad thing is I was told when I called for a LSV my five 5 year plan is

50% to long.

New lots will be long gone by then.

:cryin2::cryin2:

There will always be something

Fear not, there may not be new lots available for you, but due to attrition you will always find something in TV. That's the beauty of this place, homes are continually turning over and each incoming newcomer makes the existing home their own.

I see the ironic humor in your post. :1rotfl:

It's always too long once you found TV.

All I know TV is perfect for me.

My problem is getting there. :cryin2: Hopefully soon.
