Publix is a bit more costly, to be sure. But their overall quality is excellent. My only gripe at Publix is the long lines at the deli counter. I'd say they could do something but speed things up but the employees in back of the counter are already almost bumping into each other.

I agree about the Publix deli counter, but at least they have a number system. Winn Dixie does not. I have often wondered why people buy cheese at the deli counter. What is the difference between the deli cheese and pre-packaged cheese? They have a huge selection of packaged cheese, so why have the deli person slice cheese for you?

IMO the bakery goods at Publix are very good and something I would serve to guests. Again, IMO, the bakery goods at Walmart (especially) and Winn-Dixie are crap.

100% agree!

No matter where I live my shopping habits, are Amazon/ Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco, Sams, and the Base.

Most of which comes to my front door. Local is Fresh Market, I may stop into Publix, every couple of months. What little meat we use comes from private farm.
But not everyone needs to shop at the same grocery, or like all the groceries. What they all have in common, they enjoy taking your money.

If you don't need the buy one get one donate the one's you don't need to a food pantry

Deli cheese is just sliced and to us tastes better than prepackaged.

Just be prepared to pay 20-40% more for the same products in the same quantities.

Walmart is even less on the same products. The milk I drink is 80 cents less at Walmart cheeses are about 30% less ice cream is &3.00 less per half gallon you can save $15-20.00 easily on a &75-100 order at walmart same brands and sizes

Leaving the store my wife said, my bad, we will shop at Publix. There is a nice one near our house and it took us 30 minutes to get to Winn Dixie.

Walmart for 90 percent of items. Others not competitive on price except for some specials.

...With the caveat at Wal-Mart being "when you can find it".

Wal-Mart carries a lot of the same brands as Publix. "Wright" brand thick-sliced bacon for example, which is pricey at Publix for something like $12.00 for a 1.5 pound package. WallyWorld sells it for about $3.50 less per a 1.5 pound package--except that we haven't found any there for at least a month now. Braunschweiger as well: $2.99 at Publix, maybe a few cents less at Wal-Mart...when they have it, which is pretty much never these days.

I know they blame it on supply problems. But those supply problems apparently aren't the same for some stores.

Compare the bakery section in Publix to the bakery section in Winn-Dixie or Walmart market it doesn’t even come close to the selection. Publix prices are outrageous for just about everything. For me it’s worth traveling the extra few minutes to Winn-Dixie or Walmart market knowing how much money I’ll save .

You got that right~~

I shop Walmart, Aldi, and once in a while Winn Dixie. Publix prices are ridiculous.

Affluent and, dare I say, spoiled.

Gee, I wonder why that is. Could it be the Boar's Head products only Publix sells in this area? Hmmm.
