NO...
To answer the OP question, I would not consider paying $110/month for my wife and I to use a facility like that. This is just my opinion of course. I would be hard pressed to imagine such a business would make it. From my experience, quality gyms make money by selling memberships at a reasonable rate relying on the fact that a large percentage of folks never show. I would never consider $110/month reasonable...... well maybe with weekly massages... and free mimosas after a tough workout... :D
We are spoiled in the suburbs of MA (apples and oranges to FL) to have many great fitness centers for less than $50/month per couple. To be honest, I have always been a bit disappointed with what the Villages offers for gyms at the cost it is offered, but it is what it is….and I do not have to partake if I choose not to…. |

No, would not pay extra for the use of an indoor pool.

No, I wouldn't pay extra either for an indoor pool

Nope.

Nope, I wouldn't even use it if it was free.

As a swimmer and total water enthusiast I would not pay extra for what you describe. Swimming laps in a heated pool can be very difficult at times with higher temperatures. I find cooler water increases my intensity and is easier to work out in.

I personally think the prices quoted are a bit steep.
But I would love to have access to an indoor pool. We are sold on the Villages, but I have wondered again and again about the lack of shade at the pools and with skin cancer so prevalent in FL, I must say I am surprised that TV does not have several indoor pools. To me it is a no brainer, but the Morse family must think differently. But could we get some real shade at some of the pools? The Pergola roof shade areas are not any protection from the sun at all. |
