They could have made it a more prominent color. The pale grey on white background is a bit hard to see. |

As for newbies, they aren't used to searching the old way so they have no preconceptions. I think they'll find it easier to find what they're looking for - I do. |

I hope they go back to the old one. Wcs |
I don't like this change i want to buy a house next month but this is making the hunt really hard

There are probably 150 of them, and the rep will search for what you want specifically. |

Very poor for people looking to buy preowned homes. You can no longer find the new listings on a daily basis. Now you have to search through homes by price and much duplication of reviewing homes. Poorly done but I can see why they are doing it as it is now set up to try and sell more new homes. Please change it back at least for the new listings daily.
|
new site not quite user friendly as old site but you can find out all that you would like to find. One nice thing about it is that you can search by model. Very helpful to see what you are hunting for is being listed in the different villages.
|
Initially I didn't think this change was an improvement, but on closer look, it is improved--the Models are now listed for the pre-owned homes and you can still search by Village.
Try this: From the Home page under Homes and Villas select "Search Homes" then Under the expanded "Search" tab, select "Preowned Homes" -- all preowned pop up, then you can select the individual options just as previously available including "Village" It defaults to "Open Houses" first, but you can easily sort by other options just like before. Happy searching! |

Gpirate, I suggest you call the Sales Office and complain. If they get enough negative feedback from prospective Purchasers, they may change it back. |
Once you figure out it works it's okay, but it would be nice if their was a button for "new listings". Make life much easier for those searching.
|
It's always a bit difficult to adapt to changes. I like some of the new search options such as by model. However, the pending properties are gone! They used to stay on the site until they closed. Also, courtyard villas are missing from the list although I can find them if I keep refining the search. Maybe "they" will tweak it to cover what folks are missing.
|
You can still view preowned pending properties. Just click the box next to Include Pending Homes and they will be visable. It is a bit confusing because that box is below the Both New and Preowned selection.
Courtyard villas are available for viewing on the list. Just click on Villas and you have to select what type of villa. Keys and Cabana villas are vinyl sided. Savannah and Bungalow villas are block and stucco. Not sure about Designer villas. |

Just when on the pre-owned villa site... Only showed 2 villa for sale in the villages, yes I used all the filter buttons... It flashed 16 for second then blinked and only showed two. This just bad change :Screen_of_Death:or they are still working the bugs out. Too bad for people out of state looking. Just makes you wonder who all sudden decided the old page wasn't good enough or up to date.:22yikes: maybe the Federal Government mandated this cause it was too easy the old way:loco:

Did not read all the post...
But i did go to the sight as others suggested.... there has to be a money reason for changing to this crazy idiotic program. what a waste of time.

I will stop looking if this is the way TV operates. Sad management IMHO. |
I miss the aerial view map option I enjoyed looking from above

There is a feed back form. Fill it in and tell them to put the ole system back.

The internet is supposed to be quick, easy and have pertinent information. This new website does none of the above. |

It's not user friendly and when you can't find what you're looking for, you get frustrated and stop looking.
|
I admit that I did not read all 70 posts.
But has anyone actually called the sales office and discussed the change's? |
glad its not just me..i enjoyed every morning drinking my coffee and looking at the new listed preowned..about five minutes done and out..this morning filter or not..it was twenty minutes out of my life i will never get back...

I am wondering why they do not list pre owned on MLS and keep New unlisted ? Cheers |
I must say .. site looks ok to me
I just saw the changes this morning, I might use the site once a month so no expert on old format, but IMO, I like the new format more. I like being able to use the left pane to select a price range and see how many are available by village, then select on a village and see just those homes. OMG, I can tell if the ones that meet my criteria have a golf cart garage in the search pane.....
One enhancement I wish all search sites would have is a map view, i.e., put in price, see all homes in The Villages that fit that criteria on a zoom-able map. That allows me to select ones I want details of based on location, e.g., main roads, golf course, etc. |

Just type in to your search engine: The Villages Florida Trulia You will get a slew of homes for sale....... You can also use TRULIA for any other town or city or state...... p.s. For what it's worth, The Villages website had homes "still for sale" that had already been SOLD. p.s. 2: Also.....where before you could "share" from computer to computer the "video" of the home for sale, during the past few months that feature DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I'm talking about pre owned homes in THE VILLAGES. I'm sure the folks trying to sell, for whatever reason, would like as many of us to see their homes online........... For those who know which village they'd like to be in.......and where no new building is occurring, pre owned is the only way to go. People have already spent bundles on luxury features and at least one can SEE what they would be getting rather than imagine and hope for the best. We also liked the aerial views to see what was NEARBY. |

I didn't see a "feedback" section. However, I did see a "contact us" section.....click on hyperlink above...or type it in. I just knew that wouldn't work. The area I sent it from is not what shows up. However, at the bottom of the link above............just click "contact us" . On my screen it originally came from pre owned homes and at the bottom it said "contact us". Server Error in '/homes/vls/OpenHouse' Application. spoke to my rep today...he knows the two things everyone wants back is the map so you can see the property...and the select new listed preowned...for those who just want to see what was listed today without going thru everything...yep people have called that are trying to buy a house...yes they can find you a home...but both houses we bought i found on line...and said i want that one...rep did not have either on their list to show us ..the newly listed preowned site for someone who is out of state was the way to find a home and buy online if you needed to..I do like the virtual tour but as i told him this morning I do not have the time to spend 20 minutes weeding thru every preowned...he asked if i contacted a mls agent because of this told him honestly yes so the rep said....yes they are aware...is it going to change...not sure
|
I think it is a bit 'bunglesome" and not as easy as we were used to. I think, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Seems they could have used the same format and added further search features such as color of cabinets, golf cart garage, etc.
I think those smart techies that set up these kinds of programs are not on the same wave length as ummm...well "normal" people. lol.:1rotfl: |
