Take Gator Aid size bottle with a wide neck , cut the bottle in half now take the neck and wire tie it over the back flow valve and the spray will be deflected to the ground.

Yes. That is exactly what it’s supposed to do. Your hose bib fitting is working correctly.

The purpose of the backflow preventer is to prevent hose water from backing up into the main water supplied to the house. You could end up drinking all that bacteria-infested water from the hose!

I just noticed my new neighbor cut a piece of pool noodle and inserted it around the vacuum breaker. Looks like an easy solution.

Jus take the VB off your bib.

And remove your mattress tags too.

By the way, you can remove the tags as long as you eat the mattress.

I was having that problem. I would get soaked turning off the faucet. Now, I just leave my sprayer on the hose going while I turn off the faucet. Problem solved!

You can eliminate the shower by cutting aplastic water bottle off about 2inches from the neck. Remove the cap and slip it over the valve. You can notch it to fit. Replace the hose with problem solved. Water gushes back toward house , not you.

If need to replace a vacuum breaker, this is the fastest way to remove it if you don't have the special tool. It takes less than a minute with a sawsall but a hacksaw blade will work but not as fast.
