It is possible to make your own cream cheese without a lot of trouble. Go to YouTube and search for videos on how to do this. You need milk and a starter. Starters can be bought online (e.g. Amazon).

The cream cheese you make will be much healthier due to lack of preservatives. But it won't keep for too many days. Imagine - needing to finish cream cheese :)

I make my own yogurt with the same starter (how it is prepared determines if it becomes cream cheese, cottage cheese or yogurt when you start with milk....the same starter works for all, except cottage cheese needs a little vinegar.)

Next thing, you'll have me churning butter!

When I asked at local grocery, they said it was due to a Kraft strike.

It's a conspiracy aimed at the non-lactose intolerant.🤣🤣🤣

Some delis make their own cream cheese that’s actually better than the Philadelphia kind. Probably available closer to Orlando. Good luck!

I got the last container of cream cheese at my Publix in NW Florida a couple of weeks back - they were completely out of all of the flavored varieties and there was one tub of plain that I grabbed. I had no idea that there was a widespread cream cheese shortage.

Gatorade and fruit juice seems to be chronically low stocked, too.

Toasted plain bagel with crunchy peanut butter and jelly. May not be kosher, but better than toaster pastries.
☺👍
