The US government has not closed a single business, nor does it have the authority to do so. All quarantine actions and business closures have been on the order of local and state authorities. Some states, such as Kentucky and Michigan, have closed even drive-in church services, for example. Others have not. Vermont ordered Target and Walmart to sell only food items and to close off the rest of the stores.

The media is currently telling us the the US death toll is hire than Italy and climbing. We’re now the hugest in the world.
Take a deep breath! Ok now Italy has a population of around 23 million. The USA 2018 senses was around 350 million. This doesn’t account for legal visitors and illegal visitors so will add another 3 million. Now do the math and tell me who has the highest death rate percentage.

I am a front line registered nurse and hope you or your family doesn’t need my services. Is this short sacrificing worth my life or my family so you can go to different areas. Selfish

Funny how all this 'staying at home' stuff is affecting people differently...the individual that made this OP obviously has lost whatever few marbles they had when they moved here and has gone literally gone over the edge and is now 'bat crazy'....
hopefully it's like sea sickness and goes away

a little disappointing that the first post is dripping with venom and anger...too bad there isn't an audio to these posts...they could have included a few 'foot stomps' to make their point

I'm responding hoping that they'll read this so that they know that in the era when messengers where actually being killed for delivering the wrong message they didn't have the ability to 'shoot' them ....firearms arrived on the scene much later

just saying

I certainly do not agree with your assessment. California did inter Japanese people, both American citizens and immigrants. On the other hand, Hawaii did not. No act during the war was documented in Hawaii involving treason by them. Tell me which decision was correct?

Those who sacrifice liberty for safety deserve neither and will ultimately receive neither.

I agree 100%.

Our community (55+) should be the most vocal against this abuse of government power. Help the younger people to understand that this great country was not built on socialistic government control. Yes, they (the government) should apply all resources to finding a treatment, a vaccine, and informing the citizens of the best way to combat it. And yes, every individual and business owner should be free to choose to stay home or close it’s doors. And yes every church should decide what is best for their parishioners . But the government has vastly overstepped their moral and ethical bounds. Yes, they have the “right” to do what they have done only because they wrote it into their own laws and we the people choose to let them do it. But lessons need to be learned and the government needs to hear that they are out of line, else the next time they will encroach even further onto our civil liberties.

26505 Deaths And 606685 cases confirmed you cannot be serious. So you’d like to go to Sunday services and increase the odds of this virus doing even more damage? A very slow response from our government put us behind this pandemic leading us to believe this was not worth worrying about so if your mad and upset maybe find a direction to point your anger at. Yes this is an over 55 community but unfortunately we have a bunch of adults acting like teenagers still hanging out in groups and not socially distancing themselves thus endangering even more people. Stop complaining about your civil liberties being denied let’s figure out what we need to do to get past this so we can get back to normal.:MOJE_whot:

Yep - this time its not the Japanese its us

It shows the myriad of government agencies and the vast power they can wield over our daily lives. Whats it gonna be next time? German measles?

gemini5001 04-15-2020 06:59 AM

I agree 100%.

ficoguy 04-15-2020 07:01 AM

Lets review all the overlap of federal and state agencies and define their missions so we don't have the left hand not knowing what the right had is doing - everyone ordering masks and high priced medical equipment, states competing against each other, federal government agencies bidding against each other, driving up prices and creating pockets of over/under supply. When this is done we will probably have 50,000 ventilators that will be obsolete because the net models will be cheaper, better....

I am just astounded at the lack of insight at the original post. I can just imagine what that post would be if all businesses were forced to close! Ya know, some people will complain if their ice cream is cold!

Joyce952 04-15-2020 07:11 AM

Have you been living under a rock? Look at how many people have died from this virus. This is serious
