Lucifer, on Netflix, is a somewhat funny take on a detective series. Manifest, also on Netflix, involves some detective work. Mindhunter, Frequency, Lupin are also detective series.

Lucifer is excellent tongue-in-cheek humor with the premise of the Devil coming to earth because he gets tired of being cast as the bad guy all the time.

Lupin is an excellent "revenge" story - loved it.

Man From High Castle - alternative timeline where Hitler wins WWII. Absolutely excellent story and acting.

Motherland if you like witch stores of alternative timelines. Verry innovative storyline and excellent characters.

Thanks, Chi-Town,

As I recall, you are the one who got me hooked on Shameless. I had never heard of it until I read your recommendation on TOTV.

I made it through Season 1 of Bosch, even though it was damned creepy. I had to make sure the serial killer got what was coming to him.

I do like the character Bosch, although I doubt that I will ever read the books.

Now we are on the one about the body in the trunk of that beautiful car.

Michael Connelly’s books were terrific.

I will have to take a look at Motherland. Thanks for the tip.

Ted Lasso, Season 2, starts tomorrow, July 23, on Apple TV.

If you have not heard about Ted Lasso, you can find an article about it on npr.org, today.

It is just plain fun.

Apple does not drop the episodes all at one time. I think they might do two the first week and then dole the rest of them out on a weekly basis. Such is Apple's marketing, I guess. (sigh)

But if you are new to Ted Lasso and it sounds good to you, you can watch all of Season 1 while you wait.

American Rust — based on a book, which I have not read.

Subscribed to Showtime to watch it because I think Jeff Daniels is an excellent actor. He plays a sheriff in this one, a decent guy who is in a mess — actually a few messes. Showtime drops one episode each week and there are a few more to go.

You can find the trailer online or the book’s summary on Amazon if you want to know more about it before signing up for Showtime. (Mr. Boomer and I are hooked on the story.)

If you have a decent VPN (I use Private VPN when in US.) and can get into UK tv catch-up channels, there are some rather good series.
My favorite is Luther with Idris Elba.

Best channels.
BBC1 and 2.
ITV.
Channels 4 and 5.
