Exactly. Some people always want to say something is political for some reason.

I’m so glad I retired in 1996 because I wouldn’t make it in today’s military! I use to encourage people to join the military but not since about 1998. If a war breaks out today, the only way America stands a chance is pre 2005 Vets pickup arms and Fight!!🇺🇸

That is just so dumb, sir!! I was in the U.S. Army and using sir or ma'am is simply a show of respect to rank.

You are an American but so are those in the other Americas. United States just clarifies which America. It’s not that difficult.

gettingby 12-24-2022 09:05 AM

I can’t believe as Americans we are having this conversation still. I personally will never comply with calling a man a woman or a woman a man. I will be respectful and acknowledge mental illness comes in many forms. Now it’s invading our military.

Villag 12-24-2022 09:10 AM

Why not call everyone “COMRADE”? That’s what all this is leading to anyway

Eg. “The captain is at the door. Let “them” (except the singular form would be used) in.” Obviously, some terms, such as “mother” “father” would stay gender specific but we do have the words, “parent” “sibling” etc so all is not lost. We could just extend the language a bit as Shakespeare did.

That’s the ultimate end game anyway.

For 246 years the Marine Corps has been successfully defending America and her citizens and has set the bar for warriors across the world. Now a bunch of academics, probably book learned about leadership in combat and with no real world experience, come in and think they know what will make Marines better killers and warriors. Gimme a break. These pencil necked geeks need to crawl back into their textbooks and hope they never have to deal with real "shots fired in anger".

Maybe the recruits should refer to every DI as "Sargent Carter" and every DI should refer to every recruit as "Gomer" or "Private Pyle".

There are all kinds of ways to judge fitness , each service is different including size , but only 1 and 10 soldiers ever sees combat and by quite a few different studies our troops do well , FYI the current commander has been in charge less then 2 years and just won a close fight to give the troops a pay raise over the objections ( well I won’t say more)

You can’t imagine, you just can’t, how much I ridge at the word “comrade”. My dad was in Russian prison because he would not join the Nazi soldiers. He could not stand their inhumanity. Several of his friends were also imprisoned with him and they died there. My dad was forced to eat his meals sitting on his dead friend’s body as there was absolutely no room. When he finally came home, he was less than 90 lb and his own mother did not recognize him. That is what “comrade” conjures up for me.

Obviously, you are not familiar with Russian Communism. My mother was a teacher under Communism (not in Russia but a subjugated country). They taught there is No difference between men and women. The boys were taught home economics, the girls how they could join the army when they got older. Children were taken from their families to be brought up by the state. Those who stayed at home were taught to turn their parents in IF they spoke a word against the government etc. You can’t imagine the degree of unfairness, and state sanctioned cruelty possible until you live under Communism.

You (whoever this applies to) should show your therapist where on the dolly a "they/them" hurt you.

I mean - I totally get that some of you are incapable of wrapping your narrow minds around the idea that some people don't think the same way you do. But the nastiness in this thread is palpable.

And in case some of you think I'm talking about you - I probably am.

No impact?

Just wait until to accidentally "misgender" someone because there is no way one can keep track of what ever bizarre name they want to be called...

People are losing their jobs, getting fined, possibly arrested, tossed off certain Social Media platforms, etc...

P.S. The last time a "dolly" hurt me it ran over my toe...

No excuse for being mean to people. But no excuse for constantly heaping shame on the overwhelming majority of "Average" people who don't continually adjust to the constantly changing demands of an extremely small number of people.

BTW Don't waste your time trying to win me over to your argument. You started out by slathering on Shame and that closes the door to my interest in the same way it would have had you insulted my mother.

The sad part is that no amount of Narcan can cure an overdose of "wokeness"

No one has pointed out is that this was a 2-year study that only cost $2 million. What a bargain! When does the Government ever get a study done that cheaply? I think it should have cost at least $10 million.
