The use of the phrase government issued phone tells you everything you need to know about the world view of the OP.

what type of government pays people to spy on their neighbors? It was popular in Germany and Eastern Europe for about 50 years. I find the program will be fraught with problems and mistakes.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak out for me. (The true author of this poem is often debated.) Not meant to be political here...it's just that so many posts are troublesome to me. Doesn't anyone remember the Summer of Love? Flower Power? The Road To Woodstock? |
If NYC or for that matter almost any large city started a program awarding $500 to people who turned in welfare cheats that city could save a lot of money it is paying out unnecessarily.

Judging others and ratting out others is kinda problematic. How about retribution to the ratters? And haven't they all ready tried Guns For Cash, or something like that? I just get concerned when people advocate taking away more of our rights. |

WoW!!! I was referring to being kind to others, both in real life and on here in cyber life. The level of perfection which has apparently been achieved by a number of posters here on TOTV makes my head swim!

It is indeed sad to find the number of people on TOTV that based on their comments would give up their freedoms so easily. The end justifies the means mentality is the easiest way to penetrate people's privacy. I was shocked when reviewing the discussion on drones to have one poster say he didn't care if the government came in his house he has nothing to hide.
Another poster on this thread mocked the prospect that law enforcement or government would raid their home illegally but the fact is that it happens all the time . Why? Because a cop may believe the end justifies the means. We Americans are easy targets because we have taken for granted freedoms so many Americans sacrificed for us to preserve. The primary right is our property rights which I define broadly and government is taking them slice by slice and most people don't even notice and perhaps care. Sad Sad Sad |

You know I was pulling on your leg I hope about the drugs and Woodstock. Just teasin' you a little because you are an Ohio girl and I figured you could take it. I am a conservative, but if you break the law and are hiding a gun....well, you are a lawbreaker. I don't know what should be done with you, but I don't like you or your gun. I have never had a gun so all this stuff baffles me. I don't understand the issues at all. The only people I have EVER known in my life with guns were hunters and policeman until I moved here. |

BTW, this would be a good time to contact your state legislator and tell him/her your views on legalized pot, while the Florida Legislature is in session. |
Wonder if this good citizen will get his $500?
Sure hope so! 300-gun arsenal seized from Long Island, NY, home - U.S. News |
