Wow. I even lived in Chardon right after 1966 HS graduation. We must've crossed paths somewhere along the way

Always wondered what a "buckeye" meant so I googled it.

buckˇeye
/ˈbəkˌī/
noun
noun: buckeye; plural noun: buckeyes; noun: buckeye butterfly; plural noun: buckeye butterflies; noun: Buckeye; plural noun: Buckeyes; noun: buckeye coupling; plural noun: buckeye couplings

1. a North American tree or shrub related to the horse chestnut, with showy yellow, red, or white flowers.
2. an orange and brown New World butterfly with conspicuous eyespots on the wings.

Thank you dear friend for NOT saying. "a worthless nut". ;)

But many think of these too.

Grew up in Lakewood and Rocky River and then on to OSU where I met my husband as I was moving into the dorm. We stayed in central Ohio until moving here in July. It was hard to make our last visit to Mirror Lake (where we got engaged) and see our final glimpse of The Shoe. Since we don't have any family in the area, it is doubtful we'll ever return there. I do miss some of the local things but not the bone-chilling weather they will have this week. I'll always consider myself to be a Buckeye no matter how old I am.

Born and raised on a small farm in Ohio (north of Dayton). Spent 37 years of my working career in Ohio (the last 32 in Cincinnati). Now full-time TVers...and love it here. As Gracie says, "TV is Paradise South." She should know...she's the Mayor!

Buckeyephan, We have a similar story. I met my husband when I was a freshman at Ohio State. He was treasurer and I was secretary of Block O so we met at the first club meeting in the Ohio Union. We lived in Upper Arlington for 37 years before moving here. We just went to the Orange Bowl - not a great endiing but we had a fun time. Our band is awesome.

We spent some time in Block O flipping cards in the end zone!

It is a great museum. Love the aircraft nose art done back then. I've always liked the old bombers.

Wilmington Ohio

We just moved here from Wilmington Ohio. Miss the folks back home, but the weather here will have them all coming to visit soon. I know there are several people here from the Wilmington area. Give a shout out on here if you are one of them...it will be good to hear from you.
