If I understand the OP, the only issue is with the flavored vodka, not the unflavored vodka.

The unflavored vodka is $16 per bottle, or $32 for 3 bottles, which equals about $11 per bottle. That is a good deal, as compared to the regular price of $16 per bottle.

The flavored vodka is $24 per bottle or $48 for 3 bottles, which equals $16 per bottle. That is not a good deal because you are paying the regular price per bottle, and you need to buy 3 bottles to get the regular price per bottle.

Not sure about your math, but at $24 per bottle, if you pay for 2 that's $48. Divided by 3 since you get one free, you wind up paying $16 per bottle which is the regular price. That is not good marketing, that is a deceitful (and possibly illegal) practice. If this is true, I agree with the original poster, that it is a scam.

See Post No. 16. The $11 dollar price is for unflavored vodka. The $16 dollar price is for flavored vodka. But, I agree that it is not good marketing.

Nothing new. Few do the math. Buy one get one, math is simple. Buy two get one is more difficult. Many do not know what they paid. It is a sale, it must be cheap-is it? The large family size, in your head is cheaper-it should be. Do the math, sometimes it is not. Even the shelf placement is a science. The sellers
pay for shelf space and the cost is based on location. Eye level is more expensive. Fewer people look on bottom shelves.

Many think it is cheap to watch prices. Teasing a little but it is a service to humanity.
The seller with the lowest price needs to turn the most to make the same profit. If, the person with the highest price sells the same amount he makes more money and all will raise their price

I am at my snowbird home for the summer and it's nice to be back where grocery stores actually compete. Every year when I return to Florida, I have to get over the sticker shock of places like Publix. Grocery stores where I am now would die for the margins that Publix has.

The guy said he asked the clerk if the Cherry pinnacle was included in the sale to which the clerk said yes so he went to get the Cherry pinnacle ant had gone from $16 per bottle to $24 so it was not a bargain when he had been paying $16. Please read the original post and try not to be so condescending to this gentleman that was just telling us his experience.

You are cheap, drink better Vodka and move on

Prefer Publix, like where and how their food is handled. One problem is associates chatting through ear buds in their foreign language while supposedly attending customers. You want to live here, learn the language, spout your former country at home. When in Rome do as the Romans do, my parents taught and enforced that rule🇺🇸💕

This week went into the Publics liquor store
My neighbor told me Pinnacle Vodka was on sale Wild Cherry $14 and some change Been paying $16 and some change
Hey save $4 on two bottles. Not Bad
I entered the store and immediately
Saw a display that Pinnacle Vodka was on sale buy 2 get 3rd free
$16 and some change the $14 was last weeks sale
I asked the attendant If flavored was part of the the buy 2 get 3rd free ..Replied yes their around the corner Boy was I surprised good old Publics was up to there old tricks
raise the price and scam you into thinking your getting a bargain
Price for flavored went from $16 to $24 when you look at many of the weekly sales your getting scammed. Same with Winn Dixie boneless skinless chicken breasted by one get one free save $7 a pound any where else $2 a lb
Bargain aren't bargains in senior Town

Why is it that every time somebody pays more than they should have it's the store's fault or the business is fault?

How are you getting scammed when you made a choice to pay for something and you left the information?

Four out of three people are bad at math.

rlcooper70 06-13-2021 07:50 AM

Do the math - you got a "better" deal that the one you were expecting ... less than $11 per bottle is better than $14 per bottle. Hmmmmm.

Ele201 06-13-2021 08:22 AM

Haha! Good one!
