No way. I like Publix but if you're from anywhere in the South you already know that Winn Dixie stocks more Southern type foods than Publix. Their meats are much better also.

Oh my gosh, another Costco mention! There is NO way a Costco will ever be built in TV. We are two person households, do not purchase enough in one buying session. Go to a Costco in Orlando and just watch and notice the traffic and the number of people buying twice the average of a couple in TV. No, you cannot compare it to Sam's. If a Costco ever opened Sam's would go out of business.

Where is Everglades Rec Center? Never heard of it.

New Publix
 

I shopped at the new Publix this morning in Trailwinds on 466A. What a nice store, well stocked, friendly employees and different items available at Colony. Lots of freshly prepared take out food, huge assortment of cheese and an olvie bar. The meat section has a nice assortment of prepared food to take home and heat and shopping bags with all the ingredients to make a very nice meal. Definitely my new supermarket and to make it even better no golf carts.

Past 44 down Morse Blvd to almost the end and turn right (forget the name of the road) cross the highway and on the right.

Been open about a year.

You do know the Villagers aren't the only area residents, right? You don't think all the "support troops" who live around here also wouldn't love to have a COSTCO? And if nobody here would ever buy enough to warrant a COSTCO, why is Sam's here? Same concept.

Sam's is a smaller footprint.

Sams is one of their bigger ones, much bigger than the one we went to in Roanoke.

If Costco came would be an interesting battle.

I think the Trailwinds location gives Publix some leverage. If rent from Trailwinds is less than locations on Village developer land, they could always close the Colony location and stay with the new location.

It's not the spoon and it's not just even Covid that concerned me .... it's just so gross when the 5' little lady had her hair dragging over the bar. I NEVER get food from any of those "buffet" style services. I have always avoided them. The last actual buffet I went to was probably 20+ years ago when I went to a Wendy's salad bar (talk about gross). YUCH! At least when you buy produce you can take it home and wash it.

Strange how publix is even keeping this bar open now. Like a buffet at restaurants but in these times should have an employee dishing out food choices.

I don’t mind paying a little more at Publix but usually buy sale items. Publix seems to treat their employees better along with pay benefits very little turnover and seem to take more pride in providing service. Very rarely understaffed.

I must agree with you on that just returned from trip through Midwest, New England and Atlantic Coast yes there is a big difference in prices on just about everything. Although there are exceptions.
