Candy

Baby ruth.....
I even took my lunch to school in a baby ruth box....
It opened up to me being teased....in a sweet way......

Wow, what a response to this thread! I can't believe none of you selected those coconut flat chewy candies that were white pink and brown! They still sell them in places.

The sugar dots for a penny on a strip of paper from the little store across from school in the first grade (by the way, could not stop there in kindergarten, since the pastor of our parish did not believe kindergarten was good for kids)!!

Oh! When I visited grandparents at Taylors Crossing, near Decatur, Tennessee, It was the only place in the world you could get a push up with ice cream of vanilla and orange sherbet....

The "pony keg" (convenience store) near our house had a candy counter. Those poor clerks. Gee whiz it took a while for a kid to pick out five or ten pieces of candy!

I liked those licorice records, bull's eye caramels, lik-em-ade, candy cigarettes, and at Halloween, those waxy lips that you could chew after the holder wore off.

Always loved Almond Joy. Still do. Also Junior Mints, my favorite movie treat.

Fritos [they still are]

In my Catholic school before going outside for recess 2 appointed 8th grade girls sold snacks in the basement. I got 5 cents to save or spend on a snack. Everyday for 8 years while waiting my turn I made myself a promise. I would buy something different, move on. Everyday I panicked and bought the Fritos so as not to hold up the line. Sister was watching. NEXT!. :)

And a Nestlé's Crunch bar
