I'll also say once again ... hats off and "Bravo Zulu" to the front line medical personnel ... doctors and especially the nurses. |

One non-resident died of Ebola out of a population of 330,000 million. What would that percentage be? It's pretty good odds, but I will take my own advice and take responsibility for my own safety. In a related matter, Amber, the second nurse to contract Ebola, has been deemed Ebola free and will be discharged soon, according to Emory Hospital where she has undergone treatment. |
I'm happy for the nurse, but I'm not sure what 330,000 million represents.

And we want government out of banning the use of salt by restaurant chefs/cooks in New York, when any half-decent cook knows that adding a teaspoon or less of salt to a big kettle of boiled potatoes or pasta will flavor it enough that most will not want salt shakers on the table. And we expect the CDC, Homeland Security, State Department, Justice Dept., Secret Service and the presidency to protect us from foreign and domestic enemies like ISIS--who would drool over the scenes of sending an Ebola-infected suicide bomber into the crowds at the Macys Parade or another marathon, to blast his infected blood/guts all over hundreds of victims crawling on the ground and gasping for breath and looking for their childrens' legs. |

I understand exactly what you mean. I get it. I agree with you. I am so glad that Rubicon taught me what a red herring is. I am learning so much about my own values and about debate and about what is important in my old age on THIS forum.. I know you are upset, Sunny. With good reason. And it seems the rest of the country agrees with you if you read the polls. |

Speaking of Ebola news, I just read that a doctor who recently returned from West Africa is being tested for possible Ebola in NYC. :(

This could be our worst fears confirmed. Imagine how many people this doctor could have come in contact with in New York City and the flight over. It could be almost impossible to identify probably thousands and put them all under quarantine. |
An article in the paper today explained that the Dallas Hospital that treated Duncan is experiencing a reduction in patients. The ER is empty and business/eateries in the area are also getting the same response
